Just watched. Trump...the same today, as in 1988. Core beliefs....about what’s great AND wrong with, and how to fix, this country.
Paraphrasing....Japan’s sending their cars, making a killing off of us, and what are we sending them? You can’t even buy property there....you can, but they make it very, very difficult.

Yes...I find that video quite revealing regarding Trump ...1988.... he was young yet still maintained what we hear him saying today. Striking really.

This 1988 video of Trump would put some of Trumps critics silent regarding him. He’s not changed his positions ...his heart is for this country to succeed..
I also think of how Reagan was an FDR Democrat for years before he became Republican. So their argument can’t hold that Trump appeared to be Democrat.
Frankly I think He’s been more Independent than any one side of the aisle or the other.

It says: “POLITICO has learned”, it didn’t say anything about talking with Koch brothers. There are so many other ways of learning/hearing things.
I figured he would pay for his own air time to run against or right after the debate and shoot them all down verbally.

This was the same impression I had years ago when I read his book “Art of the Deal”. I don’t think he has changed his views all that much. He is just of an age where he has learned as much as he figures he is going to learn before he gets too old to run for President, so this is his year, or perhaps in 4 years.

Too many conservatives want candidates to say exactly what they want to hear rather than understanding the race....they're worse than the media about pulling out certain phrases and no patience to hear it all.
