This is a perfect example of a “First World Problem”. The people of Zimbabwe don’t have the luxury of worrying about the plight of jungle animals. They are too busy worrying about their own day to day survival.
.....And we know what these same bunny huggers would say in turn? Oh babies, what babies? Move along.
Few things are more dangerous than a liberal with a cause.
The media sometimes amazes me with the stories they push. And I have been amused and amazed at how the media have pushed this story.
And also stunned at the reaction of people who are after the head of a hunter who hunted a lion in Zimbabwe. People who four days ago had never heard of Cecil the lion, and had no knowledge or care about Zimbabwean hunting regulations, are now outraged about alleged violations of those regulations.
With so many things going on in the world, so many people are so.upset about a dead lion resulting from a hunt. Amazing and unbelievable to me.
“Lions and other large animals are typically viewed as dangerous by the local population, and if these animals are not hunted, their populations will explode “
Maybe we should leave the lions to the locals, who understand the problem first hand, and free us up to hunt animal rights activists.
But the lion outrage was to cover for the Planned Parenthood holocaust. Don’t get in the way, locals in the know!
Yeah, I hear you loud and clear buddy.
I like to fight lions bare handed.
Just last week, I was out looking for a lion to wrassle. It was in the morning and it was cold. I had on my overcoat.
Suddenly, there he was! King of the jungle! Opener for lots of movies.
I jumped down from the rover. I took off my overcoat.
Men screamed!
Women fainted!
The lion ran away!
I had forgotten to put on my loin cloth.
( A tip of the hat to Red Skelton)
I’m still shocked at the number of anti-gun, anti-hunting Freepers that have been participating in this two minute hate.
Money quote to me: Why are the Americans more concerned than us? said Joseph Mabuwa, a 33-year-old father of two. We never hear them speak out when villagers are killed by lions and elephants in Hwange.
.
The assassin that masquerades as president in that sewer makes big bucks (US, not Zimbabwean) off of those “hunts.”
.
Sounds like Detroit.
In the last month (and I think specifically in the last 10 days), the gov’t. of Denmark had 250 whales slaughtered. This whole Cecil drama has to do with resentment of wealthy white men. If liberals, Americans and otherwise, were consistent, they would be calling for Denmark to be bombed off the face of the earth.
I have a few people filling my fb newsfeed with more and more crap about the lion. (To be honest, one or two stories might have been interesting/shocking/insightful, but c’mon already!)
I know that none of them had heard of this famous/popular/beloved lion before a week ago. None would’ve cared either.
Now they’re complaining about the dentist’s previous kill — which *again* they had no clue about EVER.
If you kill it, eat it. If not, you are a piece of garbage.
The Nazis were that way. Hitler in particular, had a great fondness for animals. Human beings, not so much.
This sentence is way too long. Here's a much more concise and accurate sentence:
Lions and other large animals areJust how dangerous are they? Lion attacks kill hundreds of Africans a year. And hippos and elephants kill more.typically viewed asdangerousby the local population, and if these animals are not hunted, their populations will explode.
I’m not some animal rights activist by any means, but trophy hunting is disgusting, as are people’s justification of it. I’m all about thinning a herd if necessary and hunting something for food. I’ve hunted plenty in my life and I’ve always considered it an unpleasant task. I’m deeply cynical of anybody who goes out and hunts for no other reason than to throw an animal head up on their wall.
Where I’m from in Wyoming, at least the outfitters that took out rich people to bag trophy elk and moose would at least do something with the meat that the trophy hunter didn’t want instead of just leaving it in the field to rot. But shooting an animal just to shoot it, what the hell is that doing for you?
And no, I don’t think this dentist guy should be killed and have his business burned. But he should be prosecuted IF he broke the law (the reporting has been 99% emotion and extremely short on facts, so I don’t know).
The fact that a majority of people in Zimbabwe don’t know about this lion has nothing to do with whether the actions taken by this dentist and his guides were right or wrong.
I think this story was manufactured to get people’s attention off of other stories.
