The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to ban the possession of firearm magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.
Mayor Eric Garcetti has already said he would sign the ordinance, which according to the council, will close a loophole in state law already banning the sale and manufacture of such magazines.
Anyone who owns the magazines will have 60 days to remove them from the city or turn them over to the Los Angeles Police Department for destruction, transfer or sale. Supporters of the measure believe it will help law enforcement officials prevent mass shootings in the city.

This is not about crime, criminal, or mass murderer control. This is about gun control which is about control of the populace.
The gang members and criminals are already lining up to turn theirs in.
My RPG is single round. I guess it is ok.
The headline writer apparently doesn’t know that 10 is not more than 10.
The reality is that it’s been illegal to transfer full capacity mags in CA for about 20 years. So this affects only people who have owned them all this time and not misused them. Suddenly those people are a threat?
The good news in all of this nonsense is that the country is quickly being divided into two camps. One of these is the urban clusters who have embraced Progressivism and who have contrived a fantasy world within they choose to live. The rest of us plod along on the principles that were established and passed on to us by the Founders. That system, flawed as it might have been at times, has flourished. We will soon see which approach is better, I remain optimistic.
Guess all the LAPD officers will be switching to revolvers, right?
“If you have a legal 15 rnd mag, can you drive thru LA with it?”
Probably not . . . unless you’re a well known Democrat maybe.
Well of course. Any chance we could get cali to secede?

"The law exempts on-duty police officers, members of the military who are issued such magazines, firearms dealers and people who more than 15 years ago obtained guns that can be used only with high-capacity magazines.
"Mr. Krekorian also wrote an ordinance requiring that guns be kept in lockboxes or disabled with trigger locks. That measure is expected to be voted on next week. The Council is also considering an amendment to exempt retired law enforcement officers from both ordinances...."
If they find mine it will because I used it to save my life.
Screw ‘em!
“If you have a legal 15 rnd mag, can you drive thru LA with it?”
No. If NYC is any example, they will check your bags and arrest you for trying to make a connection through LAX with an 11 round magazine.
Doesn’t work in Chicago but these pinheads think LA will be different.
When are the gangsters going to turn theirs in?
So is the LAWs, just need,a truck load of them.

So thankful that I live in a small, quiet, sane town.....in Texas!
I wouldn’t expect a mass lapd buy of model 29 44 magnums like SF based Callahan’s. If you’re going,to get a revolver, get a hand cannon. I’m sure there are ones better but the movie reference was wasy.
Just like they ban underage drinking, drunk driving, speeding, burglaries, murders, rapes, etc. etc.
This will really piss off the Bluds,Crips and MS 13!
My pistol is already illegal in CA as it has a threaded tip that can accept a silencer. We do not travel there...
That being said, if I have an 10 round clip (which I do have) couldn’t I just put a Sponge Bob head on it and load it with PEZ?
I’m just sayin’...
