Last wed evening, 7/24, I fell down the stairs at home and broke my right humerus. Visited ER and got an x-ray, cast, etc.
At 9:45 in the morning, 7/29, I'm having a surgical procedure to put a rod in my humerus from the shoulder to elbow.
Asking for prayer. I know that God won't give us more than we can bear.

I had a fractured radius repaired last fall. My experience was the surgery was the easy part. Be prepared for months of rehab before your arm is reasonably functioning. Work with your therapists and don't slack on the exercises. Good luck.
You will do fine.....its a big deal to you but for a medical procedure, fairly routine.....
You will be playing the piano in no time....even if you never played it before...:-)
Prayers for you with your surgery. I had one put in my femur 12 years ago and it has been fine.
The upside is the modern painkillers are wonderful :)

My experience from shattered humoral head two years ago, plate and ten screws, removal of plate and screws ten months later, third surgery two weeks after second to clean out hemorage:
1. Get off pain meds as quickly as possible.
2. Do physical therapy from the earliest possible time,
as aggressively as you can tolerate.

Our prayers. I’ve had similar surgery, it’s not that bad but painful at first. The pain management we now have will take care of that you’ll do fine.

I had some surgery this summer. Just remember, once they knock you out its all about waking up and moving through the steps of recovery. First few days are the worst ....make sure to keep ahead of the pain with the meds.
I had a big female surgery in which the aftermath is dealing with hormonal imbalance as well .... It’s been a tough summer! But I am better for it.
