Just a day after allegations reemerged that Donald Trump raped his ex-wife, Ivana Trump, the bombastic billionaire’s former spouse played down the controversy, saying that the two are still “the best of friends.”

“Donald and I are the best of friends and together have raised three children that we love and are very proud of. I have nothing but fondness for Donald and wish him the best of luck on his campaign,” she said.
“Incidentally, I think he would make an incredible president,” Ivana Trump, who divorced her husband in 1992, added.

That depends. Right now she’s trying to figure out how to pull a ‘Candy Crowley’ on Trump during the debates and get away with it.
It’s a very time consuming job because it has to be made to look authentic and spontaneous, which requires quite a bit of practice. It’ll be live TV after all.
Dennis recently spoke of his admiration for Trump and that Trump will be a great President.
“Omarosa has already made a statement that Trump is NOT a racist and she has nothing but respect for him.”
Right!
I was pleasantly surprised for her to offer that kind of endorsement to The Donald. When that happened I’m sure the media was so mad they didn’t know what to do.

It’s a weak denial. Stupid lawyer shouldn’t be going around saying you can’t rape your wife though — even if you can (which I believe). It just doesn’t make for a good sound bite.
Ivana’s got Alimony to worry about. It would be very Trump to have her locked up under agreements where she would lose that alimony should she get out of line. Thus, weak denial.
So Ivana is defending him, thats good though. None of Bill Clinton’s rape victims are defending him.
She’s a better-looking version of Nancy Grace. I can’t stand Kelly.

They are just poorly educated and gullible.

I think your analysis is pretty spot on. If Ivana could make more money jumping on the newly rediscovered rape train she would. She likes the millions more, regardless of whether or not it was ever the truth. So it (her recent support of Trump) must be taken with a grain of financial salt.
Of course the opposite is also true, that the original claim very well could have been to squeeze more money out of the divorce. So who knows. If Trump’s lawyers don’t say anything stupid (again) he should be fine through this though. At best (for his detractors) Ivana comes across looking like a gold digger no matter how one looks at this now.

Well, as far as I am concerned she never had any. Always was a slippery backstabber.
This probably came from Brad Dayspring, the GOP hatchet man who
works for Scott Walker.
I haven’t a clue about her other than she officiated over this wedding in some capacity.
