OSKALOOSA, Iowa (AP) Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump opened up a line of attack Saturday on Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, accusing the leader in recent polls in Iowa of running his neighboring state into financial trouble.
It's the latest broadside against a rival of the outspoken New York billionaire. Last week, Trump went after South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham for calling him a "jackass." The New York businessman has characterized other candidates as unfit for the office and said the party's 2008 nominee, Sen. John McCain, was not a war hero in spite of his years as a prisoner in Vietnam.
Spurred on by a raucous audience of more than 1,000 at a central Iowa high school, Trump said Walker has an advantage in Iowa because he's from a neighboring state but that the edge is undeserved because Walker has mismanaged Wisconsin's budget.

Most of our government falls into that category. Lobbies Political donors. Funds doled out by GOP at their discretion
Trump plays a conservative now, but would govern like Hitlery in drag.
Busting that cycle of scum has to be our primary objective.
Agree
I guess you didn't know that.
Perhaps you need to get your facts straight.
Bull crap.
It may not help Trump.
But this is what I have more or less decided.
These kind of “gotcha” antics have gone on UNDERHANDIDLY for years. Trump does it out in the open. It’s interesting.
Looks like Trump, or someone on his staff, picks up on issues and points him in the right direction...everyone shouts Me Too!!
Walker, from what I read, really didn’t do or say anything. Some staffer did. But that is evidently the kiss of death.
Disclaimer: I am not in Camp Trump or Camp Walker at this time. I’m not in any camp. Just watching at this point.
Walker’s the front-runner in the early States. #1. Polling a lot better than the stalking-horse for Hilary called Trump.
“Strange bedfellows...Donald Trump, Dennis Rodman and Kim Jong Il.”
You forgot to add Hitler from an earlier article at Salon, America’s No. 1 Jew-hating website.
And then Trump went bankrupt and stiffed his creditors. And then Trump went bankrupt again. And then he went bankrupt again. And then he went bankrupt again, for the fourth time. You left that part out.
Maybe it’s time the people on this forum stop treating Trump like you’re a bunch of 14 year-old girls on the front row of a Beatle’s concert getting ‘gasms from the experience. You’re embarrassing yourselves.
25 percent tariff on Chinese imports
Correct me if I’m wrong (with a cite), but isn’t his plan to slap a tarrif only on products that US companies go overseas to manufacture, at peasant wages? e.g, Ford is building a factory in Mexico instead of US. Trump said he’d slap a tarrif on every car they try to ship into the US from that plant.
I gotta laugh. Walker’s flunky calls Trump a “dumb-dumb”(as Mark Levin would say: “Who talks like that?”), Trump gives Walker’s team a chance to take it back and they don’t.
So Trump responds by attacking Walker’s POLICY positions and Trump is the “jackass.” Got it.
But it’s neither here nor there. No way in world does Walker become President of the United Sates. Not gonna happen. No way. No how.
I respect that view. I am very happy Trump is running and doing what he is doing. The chances of him being the nominee in 16 months I view as about 2%, IMO. If that. I am nevertheless interested in having him “in theater” for as long as possible. Part for entertainment, part for forcing the others to talk about stuff they do no want to talk about.
In the meantime, as you suggest, the GOPe who has the proven track record of attacking its own, IMO >has got to be< developing a strategy of probing Trump to see how he can be provoked. If enough attacks come and he has to respond “in character” to all of them, I believe (they think) it will define him as a loose cannon. They are probably right.
In Trumps’ shoes, I would have responded to this kerfuffle by saying “I like Scott Walker and I think he’s a good guy. But he has some jerks on his staff, as we just found out.”
[implication>> I’m not going to let a little thing like this get me ruffled.] This would be a more calibrated response. This would be like a chess move where a captured pawn is retaken not by bringing out the queen early, but by using a lesser piece.
There are 16 months to go in this. Conserve ammo. Do not expect the other side(s) to keep using tactics that are (up to now) backfiring on them. These things shift over time. The Alinsky tactic of ridicule will become much easier for the other side(s) if Trump gets exercised easily, while the flinger of insult looks weaker if there is no apparent reaction by the insultee. Now, maybe you say “look at the traction Trump got by whacking Linda Graham”. Yes, because Linda is easy to ridicule. And Trump had this whole piece of VERY amusing theater (LG asking Trump to help him get on Fox, Trump came through, and this is the thanks he gets) to pull out. A staffer, nobody knows who he is. He doesn’t merit the full response.
So we’ll tax a Ford made in Mexico, but give a Honda or Toyota made in Mexico a free pass?
I wonder if Trump loses the nomination that he will go third party taking enough votes to usher in President Sanders?
Walker evidently had the chance to turn it back, and has connections with other freaks going after Trump a great deal, all the while staying silent. Walker also denounced Trump previously over the McCain comments.
Walker is a dull looking, zombie of a politician. He will never be President.
Trump and Cruz are better.
Trump is having way too much fun. he’s getting better at being a politician as well. the Debates will say it all. He isn’t the Ghost of Ross Perot—he isn’t for Hillary (this time) He is his own man—love him or hate him. the GOP will never be the same because of him.
So well tax a Ford made in Mexico, but give a Honda or Toyota made in Mexico a free pass?
The idea is to stop our American companies from shipping their factories overseas. I think that’s a good idea. We need to rebuild our industrial base. Trump is the only one talking about this, because the other candidates are beholden to big money donors who support off-shoring.
Walker called Trump a “Dummy” in print—Trump asked him to change the wording—he refused and Trump has lowered the hammer on him. Don’t insult Donald or he will hit back.
“He doesn’t merit the full response.”
I really can’t disagree with anything in your post.
