[KY] State forbids pastors calling homosexuality 'sinful'

The state of Kentucky has begun imposing a religious test on volunteer pastor counselors in its youth division, insisting that they refrain from calling homosexuality “sinful” and dismissing those who cannot bend their religious faith to accommodate the state requirements.

The policy was uncovered by Liberty Counsel, which has sent a letter to Bob Hayter, commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice, demanding that the state religious test be dropped and that a dismissed counselor be reinstated.

“Liberty Counsel writes regarding the blatantly unconstitutional revocation of volunteer prison minister status of ordained Christian minister David Wells, who has provided voluntary spiritual counseling and mentorship to juvenile inmates under the control of the Department of Juvenile Justice. … This revocation was issued by Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center on the basis of the April 4, 2014, DJJ Policy 912, which mandates full DJJ support of homosexuality and transvestism.

“With no evidence of any violation of DJJ policy on Mr. Wells’ part, his volunteer status was revoked by the Warren RJDC superintendent because he could not sign a state-mandated statement that homosexuality was not ‘sinful,’ among other things,” the letter said.

The policy states that DJJ staff, volunteers and others “shall not imply or tell LGBTQI juveniles that they are abnormal, deviant, sinful or that they can or should change their sexual orientation or gender identity.”

“We have to face the fact that this is NOT a Christian nation anymore, if it ever really was.”

I have to think that at one time it was a Christian nation since every state required religious oath to hold public office. Similar to the following, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Saviour, and the Old and New Testaments to be divine revelation from God Almigty.”

The state has NO rights. But it has the POWER to regulate, tax, reward, punish, and even to kill.

MHG is correct. The bible seems to clearly indicate it is a physical mark. However, the bible also seems to indicate it can be refused. So it apparently can’t be applied by a gang of thugs holding you down and forcing it on you against your will. I’ve still not figured that one out other than God personally prohibiting the mark be applied to anyone unwilling to accept it.

We are seeing ‘a warm up’ of a future period of time where truth will be fully rejected......God will send a delusion to those who reject the truth, you can count on it..... and It will be so strong that once one believes the lie there will be no turning from it.

My, my...what will Hillary say about this infringement of the Constitution when one of those hard-hitting, fastball-throwing, mediawhore interviewers sits down with her in a taped schmooze-fest to be disseminated across the fruited plain?

You are interpreting prophetic biblical metaphors as literal. ‘Forehead” references a mentality or way of thinking (Jeremiah 3:3, Ezekiel 3:8) and in teaching (Exodus 13:9, 13:16, Deuteronomy 6:8). They are not literal or physical ‘marks’.

Yes, for those who reject the truth they will agree with the state for God’s delusion he sends will be so strong they can’t refuse nor would consider it.

A look at the progressives today speaks to this very much...willingly deluded and completely closed to truth....

Because you are attempting to equate a way of thinking and acting in order to make a living having a physical brand.

Refusing to think and act in accordance with a tyrannical Beast is what the passage in Revelation is referencing.

Ezekiel 9:3-6 reveals spiritual marks placed on the heads of those who did not grieve over all the detestable things being done in Jerusalem. Those with the mark were spared, those without that mark were killed. It was not a physical mark because God ordered Angels to make those marks.

Yes, I don’t think the Angel marks are physical, because it doesn’t seem to indicate that. But the context of Revelation says something different about the Beast’s mark. First, it can be in forehead OR HAND, and it is visible so people can be prevented from buying or selling. All of those indicate a physical mark of some variety, so I think the weight of evidence leans toward a physical mark.

There are other theories, yours is a common one, and I’ve considered it but don’t think it accounts for all of the BIBLE evidence.

Could be both....people are already softened up and accustomed to forehead "markings" that represent religious belief....it's a small step to make it political.....plus the world will be under the delusion God sends so they'll happily do whatever.
