In the early 90s, the Donald said he would ask his ladies to swing by the doctor for an AIDS test before hed wine and dine them.
Future American President Donald J. Trump appears to be a tad germophobic.
One of the curses of American society is the simple act of shaking hands, and the more successful and famous one becomes the worse this terrible custom seems to get, the 2016 Republican presidential frontrunner wrote in his book The Art of the Comeback, published in 1997. I happen to be a clean hands freak. I feel much better after I thoroughly wash my hands, which I do as much as possible. (He has repeatedly described the custom of handshaking as barbaric, because of the germs.)
But his fear of disease goes well beyond his worries about catching a cold from glad handers. According to an early 90s Associated Press article, Trumpthen a newly eligible bachelortalked about how he asked women to agree to an AIDS test at his doctors office before he would take them out on a date.
Its one of the worst times in the history of the world to be dating, he explained in late June 1991, roughly four months before Magic Johnson announced that he tested HIV-positive, and before Queen frontman Freddie Mercury died of AIDS.
Trump made his comments shortly after his divorce from Ivana Trump was finalized, and after he had been seen out on the town with TV personality Marla Maples and then model Carla Bruni.
I have been known to say that to women, the real estate mogul and notorious womanizer told Newsday when asked if he actually asked potential lovers to test for STDs. Its one way to be careful. There are a lot of ways. Im saying, take all of those ways and double them, because you will need them Its very scary out there.

After some years of wooing and HIV-testing, Trump would settle down and remarry, twice. But along the way there was one famous woman he regretted never asking out: Princess Diana.
Do you think you would have seriously had a shot? NBCs Stone Phillips asked Trump during a Dateline segment from November 1997. (Princess Diana had died that past August.) I think so, yeah, Trump replied. I always have a shot.
Trump claimed he never asked her out because he was always too busy. It is unclear if The Donald would have AIDS-tested the late Princess of Wales, had he not been so busy.
I used that word on purpose. No candy coating.
He’s not hurting the statists. He’s giving them victory. He’s always been a devout statist.
OK, If you had an adult son that was a very successful business man that was worth millions of dollars, don’t you think it would be prudent to make sure any adult woman he might meet and could later have sexual relations or even get married to and have your grandchildren, be free of any STD’s?Do you think that everyone that might have AIDS or any other STD may not be aware they even have it?
It is evident you have disdain for DT and you illogically attack him on all subject on every thread here on FR.
Are you secretly a GOPE running for president because that’s is exactly what they have been doing and it makes them and you look really foolish.
Did his dates also get to test him, I wonder?
That’s all I can type...the thought of dating Donald Trump, much less doing anything else with him, has sent me into violent shudders.
That thought just made me sick to my stomach! What if his hair fell over on you? ICK!
Okay, you did it. Up comes breakfast!
I haven’t eaten yet so I have the dry heaves! ; 0)
Smart .... but the women should have asked for his test results as well. He was obviously playing the field.
I troll undercover on forums where there are a lot of young minds full of liberal mush.
I’m absolutely convinced that the appeal of Obamacare for millenials was the pervasiveness of expensive to treat STDs.
When I was in my 20s, nobody gave a rip about “health insurance”.
I wash my hands more than 20 times a day. Not compulsive. I get my hands dirty. I push elevator buttons with the end of a pen AND I do not touch anything in public restrooms. Since I implemented those policies I rarely get sick.
Apparently he had his sexual partners tested for all STD's.
Sounds reasonable.
And aren't there all sort of PSA's out there about how getting tested for AIDS is a good thing?
Seems like a reasonable approach.
Since I retired and have much less contact with people in general, I’ve noticed a BIG reduction in getting colds.
I’ve heard the credit card signing stylus at stores are some of the worst for germs, so I’m careful with those.
I don’t see that as a negative. I think most people dating out there probably try to be smart about it.
“Trump appears to be a tad germophobic.”
“Germophobic”? Really? it’s not like he feared getting the measles. It’s AIDS, for Pete’s sake!
I remember a short Australian AIDS prevention ad that struck me as very effective. (It left me thinking “WOW!”)
It showed a singles bar with glamorous 30-somethings sipping drinks and hitting on each other. They ask, “Can you pick the one who has AIDS?”
Then they closed in on a VERY attractive - and leggy female chatting with a good-looking guy as they head for the door.
The ad ends with “She did.”
Trump is in a position to do this, so why not? Especially in these days.
Just out of curiosity, can I ask you what religion you are? Because Islam and atheism are the religions I know that support that morality.
This isn’t about me. Who is your man in the race. All you do is put down DT, but who do you support?
I have yet to see you post the positive points of your candidate, who ever that might be.
