Cruz or Lose!!!
His line about McConnell denying a corrupt deal three times, like Saint Peter, was well played.
Maybe he took a few assertiveness lessons from Trump during their meeting.
Now if he would realize that increasing H1B visas by 500% will do nothing more than feed the cronyism monster, he might regain some of the ground he has lost.
Ping 4 later.
I am going to spend the 20 minutes!
YOU BETCHA!
This is how Trump helps our guys either use the balls they have, or start growing them.
Some will attribute this speech to politics, or the influence of Trump.
It’s neither. Cruz has made these identical allegations many times before— listen to his floor speech on CrOmnibus- where he accused lame-duck congressmen of loading up the budget as graft for lobbyists, just so those exiting congressman could then get jobs with these lobbying firms.
Today, with a procedural maneuver, McConnell blocked conservatives from filing amendments to the Highway Bill (defund Planned Parenthood; reject Iran deal; defund Obamacare; mandatory 5 year sentence for deported illegal re-entering the country)
If was simply the last straw for Cruz- he was incensed.
Ted calls out the Uniparty!!
He forgot to say that Yertle is a blackmailed pussy too.
Ted Cruz is the last person whose future career prospects I worry about. For the path on which he now walks, I pray for him and his family.
That nice speech just earned Mr. Cruz another 50 bucks to his campaign from me!!
... our own Government appears to be leading our country into the pit of socialism. We have seen this Government socialize our education system and make our schools among the worst in the world. We have seen this Government take over most of our health care system, making private insurance less and less affordable. We have seen this Government socialize our energy resources and bring our Nation to its knees by cutting the development of our own oil and natural gas supplies. And now we see this Congress yielding its constitutional obligations to a Federal bureaucracy, giving it the power to control virtually our entire financial system. Americans understand this and they are angry. ...
If we were honest with the American people and explained the failures that have led to this financial crisis, we might have the credibility to ask our citizens to allow us to borrow another $700 billion in their name to try to fix this problem. But we are not being honest. This problem was not created by our free enterprise system. It was created by us, the Congress and the Federal Government. ...
We are telling people not to worry because we are going to rescue them with their own money.
DAMN that felt good.
For the life of me I just don’t understand why Cruz isn’t polling a lot higher.
I won’t share on Face Book, because I don’t agree with the editorial.
Ping for later listening pleasure.
I heard Rush interview Cruz after his speech. That interview was awesome. My computer is crashing when I go to the site, will have to listen to his Senate floor speech later on my kindle. Loved the interview with Rush, even took the long way home so I could hear it all. Go, Cruz!
Cruz is right. It's all about big money and a lifestyle that goes with it. You and me? We're nothing but tax slaves being regulated like cattle.
That's what we've been trying to warn people about at least since the last election - the good ol boys club.
(There is no "Two party system.")
They tell us they're "working in a bipartisan manner". They're doing things "For our own good". "Can't we all just get along?"
What they're doing is working together to protect their OWN mansions. THEIR world wide vacations. THEIR imported caviar. THEIR luxury jests. THEIR Delmonico steaks. THEIR thousand dollar hookers.
Harry Reed blew that whistle when he said he could "smell" the tourists - the unwashed, ignorant, disgusting, repulsive slaves coming to Washington to tour.
My respect for Cruz has increased exponentially. Reminded me of Mr. Smith goes to Washington. It is time the country class takes back our government from the political class.
Awesome speech. He just blew up his career — or else made it.
I am not a supporter of Cruz, but I take my hat off to him here: this is the speech of a statesman and a patriot.
This may be one of those turning point speeches. It’s one thing for Jim Robinson, Eric Erickson, or Mark Levin to say it, it’s another for a senator.
