The one thing I don’t engage in is letting the cop get me to guess what I did wrong. If an officer ever asks me “do you know why I pulled you over?” I just politely say “honestly I think I’ll have to let you tell me”

When I've been asked by cops “do you know why I pulled you over?”, I answer "I have no idea at all". That ends the baiting by the cops and they have to explain their reasons. Don't start guessing what you did wrong; sometimes you're innocent but just a convenient target.

Yep. That goes back to the “you don’t have to prove you are innocent.. the onus is on the state to prove your guilt”

I’ve been pulled over once, and I was so terrified I could barely speak. I think the cop felt sorry for me. He was very nice.
