“you sure don’t elect lifelong liberals like Donald Trump who, during an election cycle, say what conservatives want to hear.”

As opposed to electing eGOP that does the exact same thing?

I can’t believe how many times I have had to explain this. This is a primary. We nominate the best CONSERVATIVE in the race. And that, by any reasonable standard, is NOT lifelong liberal Donald Trump.

What do you do against people who categorically state that they are conservatives, who categorically run on a conservative platform, get elected or re-elected, and then show, once the deed is done, that they were just unashamedly lying?

Ever notice how those who lie about what they believe in order to get elected never lie about how LIBERAL they are? Lots of 'em lie about being conservatives though. Tells you where the country REALLY is, in spite of a government against the people and a media propaganda juggernaut.

He took the man at his word. As a first-termer I think he has had difficulty actually believing and accepting the level of deceit and corruption in Washington. I do believe he has been cured of that.

Yes I have noticed. It used to be the other way around, to some extent. Now the left feels safe to even be honest about their support, with no mitigation, of baby murder.

I don’t think we can be cynical enough when it comes to assessing GOP politicians.

I don’t expect Trump to be a real conservative, but I can appreciate that he is making cracks in the fortress of the GOPe, which has deceitfully built a conservative facade through which no real conservative arguments could get heard. Trump is like the radical revolutionaries who must first tear down the power structure so that people like Cruz can build from conservative principles.

I agree, but I can’t see the very people who pretend to be conservatives just to get re-elected so that they can continue to ride the gravy train of personal power, ever being the ones to pass that. They’re not there to enact a political agenda anymore, conservative or otherwise-they’re there to empower themselves, and to maintain and grow that power. They have ditched conservatives so blatantly that it’s no longer even of any use to pretend anymore, and they’re not. I don’t know what people like McConnell and Boehner will run on next time, they won’t be able to run on conservatism, unless people are even more stupid than they already appear to be.

Apparently neither do those who support him for the Republican nomination.

You didn't answer the question.

The tweet that you posted shows Trump supporting McConnell for Senate in 2014. We now know that McConnell campaigned on a package of lies about what he would do.

The question is what are you supposed to do if you're being lied to? Trump obviously believed McConnell in 2014. You can vote them out next time, but the dirty deed is done this time. Do you hold their endorsement against them even though they were lied to?

I will say that many of us here didn't trust McConnell due to his feckless performance as minority leader, and wanted him out of leadership when Republicans retook the Senate. We didn't want him out of the Senate because we hated him, but we saw his defeat as the only way to keep him from becoming the majority leader since he wouldn't step aside and groom someone younger.

Many of us are tired of Senators dying in office, and I posted that it would be a great opportunity for McConnell to become a kingmaker in the party, grooming the next generation of party leadership. When it was clear from the Mississippi primary that McConnell would do *anything* to retain his own power, the tide of sentiment turned against McConnell and ousting him entirely from the Senate became the only option.

Was Trump following Mississippi that closely and knew of McConnell and Barbour's racist involvement when he tweeted that in September? I don't know.

In the speech he explains explicitly why he voted for TPA.

I hate to say it, but I just don't believe him, I would like to but I just can't, hope I am wrong.

The state I currently reside in no Republican will ever win in my lifetime, maybe never.

but I did not lie.

Half truths are still not true. Trump is no hero to me but he is showing the correct path to take and until today no one else seems to have figured it out.

We shall see after the first debate, if they even have one, who will emerge as a credible front runner. I would actually vote for Cruz and not just as a vote against the democrat and I haven't voted for anyone since Reagan.

Half truths are still not true.

Saying I lied was completely untrue.

In spite of your denials, Trump's support for McConnell was an endorsement.

Trump is no hero to me but he is showing the correct path to take and until today no one else seems to have figured it out.

Fine. But that doesn't make me a liar because I post truth about Trump.

We shall see after the first debate, if they even have one, who will emerge as a credible front runner. I would actually vote for Cruz and not just as a vote against the democrat and I haven't voted for anyone since Reagan.

That is interesting as your tagline says differently. I could call you a liar but I won't.

Sad that your so-called conservatives are so liberal as to be to the right of Trump then, isn’t it?

Not even close.

No one said Cruz was perfect, but he is far more conservative than lifelong liberal Donald Trump will ever be.
