The Republican Partys donors have a brand new idea: lets boycott those we disagree with! Will they never learn?
...
This means that those other candidates and the Republican Partys leadership have to be smart about the way they deal with Trump. The best strategy is to
take him seriously. Yes, even when hes bullying everybody else and saying outrageous things about them.
You see, Trumps current popularity isnt about him, but about conservative anger. Conservative voters are pissed beyond measure: they feel ignored by their party, they believe amnesty for illegal aliens is all but a done deal, and theyre angrier than heck about it. Who can blame them? I know I dont.
Instead of vilifying Trump, other Republicans have to make clear that they understand conservatives anger and concerns. They have to start talking about the issues he has raised illegal immigration and the crime related to it, first and foremost. Thats why I was glad to see that Senator Ted Cruz did exactly that:
Great, but sadly a large part of the GOPs donor class and establishment dont quite understand this:
Many national Republican officials are increasingly resigned to Mr. Trumps looming presence. At a meeting of the Republican Governors Association this week in Aspen, Colo., donors and operatives mused about how to prevent him from hijacking the debate.

If they won’t confirm, I am sure there are second tier candidates that would love for participate at the first debate!! I don’t need to hear Bush, Mario or Walker. He (Walker) lost me with all that talk of MR being his VP.

Trump is no conservative. He is, at best, a loose cannon.
But at least he is aimed in the right direction, which is more than you can say for most of the other prissy boys in the hunt.

if bush, Rubio and walker do this. they should be banned from all future debates too.
Priebus doesn't have enough backbone to do that.

When it was announced that Walker chose Rubio as a running mate, I was disappointed. I cannot/will not vote for an amnesty candidate.
Now, I read that Republican donors are planning/plotting to boycott debates that include viable candidates, I'm absolutely certain I will NEVER vote any GoPe candidate again. Enough.

If it were Trump vs Hillary would you not vote for Trump? I think Trump would be a really good president.

It is official. Trump has tied the Gordian knot. These pricks making this demand are tied like pretzels. It is a nutty idea.

One detects no small measure of hypocrisy among these fatcat donors who are protected under the Citizen s United case in dominating elections with their campaign contributions because those contributions are the equivalent of free speech. Yet these same big donors would deny Donald Trump his opportunity to speak.

The only person I’d rather vote for than Trump is Cruz.
I used to say I’d even stoop to voting for Jeb? if it was Jeb? vs Hillary... but no more.

I think that is a marvelous idea that they should run with. Less opportunity for them to get their message out to the voting public. Especially Bush & Rubio.

Everything Trump does and practically says makes the others ALL look like wusses. He’s a LEADER. The rest have been exposed as pansies.
