Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) interrogated the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement director in a contentious exchange during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on immigration policy on Tuesday.
One particularly interesting back-and-forth occurred when ICE Director Sarah Saldana disputed Cruz’s assertion that the Obama administration released 104,000 “criminal illegal aliens.”
“When I asked you how many criminals ICE released in 2013, you were off by a factor of three,” Cruz said. “You said 30,000 — the correct answer is 104,000.”

Saldana argued she thought she was asked about 2014 and claimed the number was actually 30,558 released illegal aliens that were not prosecuted. The “good news is,” she continued, “at least that went down from 2013.”
“But you’re omitting the 68,000 criminal illegal aliens that ICE did not begin deportation proceedings against at all,” Cruz shot back. “You’ve got to add both of those together — it’s over 100,000.”
Saldana then admitted, “Yes sir, that’s absolutely right.”
She added, “All done pursuant to this statute that Congress has outlined.”

During the hearing, Cruz also stated that of the 88,000 convictions against illegal immigrants released in 2013, 193 had homicide convictions, 426 had sexual assault convictions and over 16,000 had drunk or drugged driving convictions.
He delivered a passionate statement about the victims who have been murdered by illegal immigrants in the U.S., including Kate Steinle.
“There are too many politicians in Washington that talk a good game but don’t act. If you want to honor Josh [Wilkerson], if you want to honor Kate Steinle, start enforcing the law and stop releasing murderers, and rapists, and drunk drivers,” he said. “I don’t want to hear from the Obama administration they’re sorry while they continue to do the exact same thing because what we know – more people will be murdered, more people will be raped, more people will be killed by drunk drivers because this Administration refuses to enforce the law. That is wrong. No man is above the law, and that includes President Obama.”
He concluded with the following statement: ”It is within your power to follow federal law. And this administration refuses to do so, and that is altogether unacceptable.”

The thing is though, it’s not parody per se. It’s exactly the words of many liberals on FR posted uncountable times. “Ted Cruz just lost my vote’. There was a couple week period that that phrase lit up any thread with his name in it and those frauds were acting in concert on behalf of someone. They were the same names that backed Romney, Perry, Rubio and every other liberal in the GOP at the expense of conservative candidates and their positions.
And using FR as a tool to take down a conservative.
It’s not about parody or trolling gullible people. It’s about getting people to realize the enemy within.

No. I do not pay much attention to the name of the poster. Sorry. Without a /s tag and having no knowledge of who you are the post reads as if it were from a troll.
The fact you have been around as long as me should have given me a clue. No about page gave me no clue.
Well for what it’s worth I’m a 100% Cruz backer hand have been for quite some time.
And the impression I got from the countless people that posted that phrase in seriousness was that they were trolls as well. It would be nice if FR took out the trash but that’s not my call.

In a hearing yesterday (maybe this one) she told the Congress that ICE would not prosecute until comprehensive immigration reform (amnesty) is passed. Maybe she IS honest. At least telling what’s really up with ICE/Obama Administration.
I learned a long time ago that about pages often give people the opportunity to take something you write in them and use it to ‘prove’ whatever they are ragging you about completely out of context. So I never did one for that reason.
Not that it solves the problem but it’s one less thing they can obfuscate with. I use my real name. If anyone has any questions about me I’m easy to search or ask directly.
Or just my check post history. I’ve been pretty consistent in my beliefs all along.
There has been a steady increase in trolling trash talkers these past few years. Don’t like it much either.
I don’t know why it’s allowed to go on. The fundraisers clearly show the result.
I’m real binary about this stuff. Conservatism isn’t Rocket Surgery. We all know what it is. It isn’t about demanding liberals to lead us or supporting liberal ideas from Republicans. Literally, a 10 year old knows the difference.
So if you have people doing those things, they are not conservative, nor are they here to promote the advance of conservatism in American politics.

Well we’re all supposed to be on the same team. And we;re all supposed to be conservative. I’m all for a bare knuckle politics inhouse as we arent monolithic and it improves the breed. Which of course is best done respectfully between equals.
That said, the Alynski bullsXit has no place save for one. I believe that those that give it should recieve in kind and full measure. Ideally such people wouldn’t be here to begin with, nor any serious conservative venue.

What struck me about this is that this argument was a bit of a waste of time. Who really cares whether the number of illegal alien criminals released was 30,000 or 100,000. If the number was 1 that would be too many. If it’s 30,000, does that somehow make it better?

I think if any of us checked, we would see the words ‘lesser evil’ ‘no matter what’ GO Trump!” and “I voted for Mitt Romney’ in the posting history of each and every person that is bashing Ted Cruz on this or any other issue.
But we don’t need to. Because it’s like the sun rising in the east.
