I’m sorry, no one who truly respects those who have served in the military will vote for this guy.
He went to military school. What the problem with that?
20 Years, 1 Month, 18 Days United States Navy(retired) and I would VOTE for “The Donald” in a New York Minute.
If he’s the last man standing on the right, I will, but he’s not close to being what I want. (He’s closer than Yeb, for whom I will not vote, no ifs ands or buts.) But I relish his having the will and the ability to take on the media.
“...no one who truly respects
those who have served in the military
will vote for this guy...”

I call bullshit on that.
I happen to know of some combat vets and disabled vets who are very excited about the chance of voting for Trump.
Nobody has to vote for him. Even the folks who appear to support him on this forum (and obviously I cannot speak for them) I would reckon do not expect him to last through Nov ‘16. But in the meantime, he is cutting a bloody swath through lots of things that need to be trashed. And I think that’s just great. Even if I was strictly an entertainment junkie and did not give a crap about the future of the nation or anything else, I would support Trump strictly on the smacking he is giving the media. They are an enemy, a serious one. And they need to be trashed and I am glad he is doing it. Period.
I don’t think this is worth overthinking. 16 months is a heck of a long time in a society whose attention span is measured in seconds or minutes, maybe 3 days at the outside.
All I would wish to say to you is to separate the notion of “voting for him” from “liking what he’s doing”.
I TRULY respect the military and I will vote for that guy.
2 words: Bill Clinton
I’m a vet and I like Trump.
You have got to be kidding. Here is an earlier Post of mine regarding the Link you provided.
Draft Dodger? I guess anyone with a 300+ Lottery Number like Trump had is a Draft Dodger now. Mine was 207, so I guess I was a Draft Dodger as well.
Two of my old Friends were #1 and #3 in the Lottery. They both joined the Air Force two weeks later. They didnt want to become Infantry fodder, so I guess they were semi Draft
Dodgers even though they Served.
Way back when, the term Draft Dodger applied to those who chose Canada over Vietnam. The Draft Boards and Medical Exams determined timing and eligibility for everyone else.
My Brother had severs Asthma and was classified 4-F. Is he a Draft Dodger too? That Draft designation also cost him a Job at Delta Airlines a couple of Years later.
Bullshit. I know many vets who despise McCain for the fraud that he is and love Trump.
Do you realize the same media that trashes Trump today for not serving back then, was back then praising anti-war protesters, those that did the ‘honorable thing’ going to Candada, and spitting on our returning members of the military?
I remember those days. I don’t know of a single young man who wasn’t looking for a way to avoid Vietnam.
It was plain as the nose on your face our Congress didn’t want to win. They didn’t care one bit about our men over there. John Kerry was their type of hero.
If Johnson got us in and couldn’t win it, they weren’t going to let anyone else do it.
I hated what the Democrats represented in those days so much, I never voted for a single one of them.
Trumps ok in my book.
I’d say that two generations of veterans who were hamstrung by ludicrous ROE will vote with gusto for someone whose ROE allow him to destroy the enemy.
No one who takes conservatism seriously would vote for this guy
