Donald Trump nearly apologized to Arizona Sen. John McCain in an interview with Fox News Bill OReilly on Monday night.
I want you to say something to Senator McCain tonight, man to man, right to him, right now, OReilly said at the end of his segment with the Republican presidential candidate, who is at or near the top in several recent national and state polls.
In response, Trump said that he respected McCain, the GOPs 2008 nominee and a five-term senator who spent more than five years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
I used to like him a lot. I supported him. I raised a lot of money for his campaign against President Obama, and certainly, if there was a misunderstanding, I would totally take that back, he said. But hopefully, I said it correctly and certainly, shortly thereafter, I said it correctly, Trump told OReilly.

Here is the rub...
He keeps saying he loved McCain and raised a lot of money for him...
And yet, he voted for Obama in 2008? Why?
Never apologize.
They won’t accept it and will use it to hang you.
Never apologize.
How do you know how he voted?. Were you in the booth with him?
Writing on the wall...
As a businessman, Trump lines his ducks up along the proper row.
Now that he has defined himself as a politician, ^HE DON’T CARE^
Source please?
I wouldnt have,, just say you misspoke and move on like everybody else does...

“And yet, he voted for Obama in 2008? Why?”
Posting things that flaky is not productive.
I don’t think that qualifies as even a half apology. But I suggest that this whole “not a war hero” thing has had more than it’s fifteen minutes of fame, and I’m eagerly looking forward to the next Trump firestorm. We’ve been through Mexican rapists and non-war hero senators, it’s about time for something Muslim.
As he starts to back down his poll numbers will drop like John McCain’s airplanes. Then he’ll be out of the race within a few months. And once again the gopE, the democrats and the media have won.
It's tricky with gotcha' journalism. One has to speak in short enough sentences to be clear but in long enough sentences to complete the thought.
Think about it. Trump says "you're fired!" He doesn't say "you're fired because...."
I can’t wait for Trump to hit on Benghazi.
‘(CNN) Real estate mogul Donald Trump is endorsing Sen. John McCain: Ive known him. I like him. I respect him. Hes a smart guy and I think hes going to be a great president, Trump said Wednesday night on CNNs Larry King Live. I endorse him.
Watch: Trump backs McCain
Trump also had praise for McCains decision to pick Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate. I think shes made a tremendous impact. The impact that she has had on rejuvenating almost the Republican Party, its been unbelievable.’
So he endorsed McCain, he rapsodized about Palin, he donated to McCain early in the race...yet he voted (according to you) for Obama.
That doesn’t make sense.
As I noted oon another thread, TDS appears to have struck early .
As a former New Yorker, I have watched Trump for over 35 years. He has always been in the media spotlight and thrives on the attention. He loves calling up a TV or radio station during the middle of a news broadcast and has done it will great enthusiasm for as long as I can remember.
And as a teetotaler, he has to have something to do evenings when the rest of us are relaxing with a martini.;-)
Another reason he won't burnout is that he's not giving speeches, he just talking...and he loves to talk.
Don’t waste your time TNMOUTH is a NOOB troll.
Gotcha. Thx.
McCain acted differently before he bowed down at the throne of Obama. He seemed to be a different man. Now he caps conservatives in the knee every chamce he gets and he falls in line with whatever Obama wants.
I agree.
Nobody, much less a 69 year old, can keep this up for a year and a half. Nothing wrong with taking frequent, short to medium term breaks.
0bama takes long, undeserved expensive vacations and it’s a-ok with the media and the electorate.
