El Trumpo called into two different Sunday news shows to defend his comments, and go on the offense against John McCains record on veterans issues. Then tonight, he tweeted out a link to this op-ed at USA Today to further explain himself.
"John McCain has called his own constituents who want a secure border crazies. No one in the news media or the establishment, including the Republican National Committee, criticized the senator for those comments.
Now, as respected reporter Sharyl Attkisson has proved point by point, the news media are also distorting my words. But that is not my point. McCain the politician has failed the state of Arizona and the country.
During my entire business career, I have always made supporting veterans a top priority because our heroes deserve the very best for defending our freedom. Our Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals are outdated dumps. I will build the finest and most modern veterans hospitals in the world. The current medical assistance to our veterans is a disaster. A Trump administration will provide the finest universal access health care for our veterans. They will be able to get the best care anytime and anywhere.
Thanks to McCain and his Senate colleague Bernie Sanders, their legislation to cover up the VA scandal, in which 1,000+ veterans died waiting for medical care, made sure no one has been punished, charged, jailed, fined or held responsible. McCain has abandoned our veterans. I will fight for them.
The reality is that John McCain the politician has made America less safe, sent our brave soldiers into wrong-headed foreign adventures, covered up for President Obama with the VA scandal and has spent most of his time in the Senate pushing amnesty. He would rather protect the Iraqi border than Arizonas. He even voted for the Iran Nuclear Review Act of 2015, which allows Obama, who McCain lost to in a record defeat, to push his dangerous Iran nuclear agreement through the Senate without a supermajority of votes.
A number of my competitors for the Republican nomination have no business running for president. I do not need to be lectured by any of them. Many are failed politicians or people who would be unable to succeed in the private sector. Some, however, I have great respect for."
Well damn. Doesnt sound like hes gonna apologize.
Point well taken. I do, however, disagree with you re: Herman Cain. He was guilty as hell.
>>but Trump is upsetting that apple cart.
And the milk wagon.
Thus leaving the brainworks of The Party(tm) with nothing to clutch but empty whiskey bottles and sheets soiled with RINO dung in the Log Farm House.
Don’t back down. The media will lose interest and he will still be standing.
The hacks expect an easy win after a heavy barrage. It is what happens far too often today. When someone like Trump doesn’t fold, then they will leave the issue in a huff.
Where is any indication that I can’t?
You first. You started that ball rolling.
OK, I’ll go.
The fact that you equated the ego’s of Obama and Trump indicates you are unable to see a difference.
What you said is essentially that two men, one a crook, the other a policeman intent on taking down the crook, are the same because they are both using guns.
Right, and then we’ll get Hillary.
'Legal' is what the administration says is legal.
You're thinking of the Old America.
“I really hope he and Cruz are somehow working together in this and are allies.”
There was that meeting that they had a week ago. I would’ve loved to be a fly on the wall!
I’m agreeing with you. Trump/Cruz sounds good!

Exactly!
While there have been no details of this meeting (at least that I know of), Cruz is the only candidate not attacking Trump.
These two men have different styles, but both are extremely effective and needed!
Im agreeing with you. Trump/Cruz sounds good!

That sounds good to a lot of us! :-D
Buchanan was on top till South Carolina-then the media savages ganged up on him and called Pat every nasty name in imaginable until he was finished.
The establishment will do anything to preserve itself. Anything.
Buchanan, Bachmann, Herman Cain, etc would never have dropped out, regardless of hate from media, if they had Billion dollar personal money to spend to stay in the campaign till the bitter end.
