So now, people, like many on this board who have never served in the military may realize there are others here who appreciate what veterans have done for the country. To jump on the bandwagon because you are a fan is asinine. Trump put down the guys military career. Trump doesn’t have the guts to have every been in the military. He needs to watch his step. ‘
Oh, and he also employees hundreds of illegal aliens. He has given scads of money to the Democrats and Hillary. All of this and yet people sit here and talk about what a great character he is and would be a fantastic president.... Not buying it for a second.
Do you honestly believe that Trump was saying he didn’t like people who were captured? He said veterans would be his #1 priority if elected, he wants to rebuild the military, strengthen our forces abroad.
It’s just insane to think that’s what he meant. He’s just tired (as am I) of McCain holding his service out as a shield against any personal criticism. How many real heroes do you know who use their service repeatedly to win favor with the public?

WEll all these candidates get to jump on Trump as its a no lose. Keeps them from having to take a stand on an issue.
Listen, we hold other politicians to a higher regard. If the left says something stupid like this, we crucify them. And we should. There are a lot of things Trump can say. McCain has many years of political BS that Trump could have jumped on. Instead, Trump threw McCains service out there as being nothing more than pure crap. That was a very poor choice for Trump to do, yet he does this more often than not.
Maybe it bothers me a bit because I am a veteran and I find this inexcusable. Then hearing others jump right on the bandwagon is sickening. Especially when, like Trump, they’ve never served a moment of their life for our country.

I agree, but on the other hand, having been a POW doesn’t give you a free ticket to slam others, as McCain did when he said Trump was “firing up the crazies”. That’s mean spirited, inaccurate, and every bit as dismissive and disrespectful as anything Trump has said.
I agree. McCain is an idiot. Attack him as you see fit. He does not have a free ticket as a POW. But that POW thingy is kinda off limits in my humble opinion. I have never thought, even though I'm a veteran, that that is any qualification for political office, but it is not something that should be disparaged.

John McCain at one time made some sense and I supported him against GWB. Those days are long gone and time for McCain to retire.

Trump kind of made the statement as an off hand comment among other comments. The media taking it out of context makes it sound much more controversial. The media made it into more than Trump said, while they made McCains crazies comment disappear.
The missile was fired from the jet behind McCain and hit McCain’s jet. I believe America would have been better off if he hadn’t survived. He has done a lot of damage to this country. And when a side has to be taken, McCain always sides against the vets. He sided with Kerry AGAINST the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth.
Perry is now speaking for all veterans? I’m a veteran and Trump doesn’t owe me an apology. But, McCain sure as hell does.
I’m a veteran. In fact, I was in the Navy when McCain was a POW. Do I have the right to put down McCain?
