Benedict Arnold was a war hero too. It’s a bad idea for anyone to make a blanket assessment — “You served? Well, then I will worship you all the days of your life and I will attack anyone who ever criticizes you.”

Trump has it basically right: McCain deserves scorn. He has harmed this nation. For decades. Having been a POW does not absolve the man of the guilt of being hurtful to American values.

That statement didn't just scorn McCain; it scorned all POWs. How would you react if Hillary or Obama said that?

Governor Perry would be better advised to concentrate on the real problem for the American Military--a President who after months of increasingly virulent targeting of our men at arms, still has many serving as targets in "gun free zones." This refusal to immediately recognize the obvious danger is so beyond something that could be justified by mere stupidity; that it should arouse the anger of every loyal American. The success of one fanatic gun man in killing Marines and Naval personnel, the other day, puts this sickening policy into a correct perspective.

As for McCain? Part of me wants to merely chalk up his alliance with those who seek to undermine the traditional culture of the Founding Fathers, to hardened arteries; one wants to say that he suffered in Viet Nam, and probably drinks too much to handle recurring nightmares. But would either problem really excuse his position on immigration, or the whipped cur approach to his debates with the Obamanist in 2008?

If Trump never served in the military, that is a fair criticism. But it does not excuse Trump's critics, who seem oblivious to their Constitutional duties. Stand up to Obama on his deliberate, clear and present threats to our military; or shut up and stop pretending to the role of patriots.

Agreed. McCain has long used up any sympathy he gathered from being a POW. He has been positively harmful.

Trump can criticize McCain 24/7 for being a CRAP politician, but his military service is not something he should be attacking, there were MANY good men who suffered horrible torture in captivity and to say you don’t like them because they were captured is an ignorant statement in the least

“Trump has it basically right: McCain deserves scorn. He has harmed this nation. For decades. Having been a POW does not absolve the man of the guilt of being hurtful to American values.”

Exactly! This BS about getting a pass as a “war hero” is just that. McCain evidently couldn’t fly his way out of a paper bag (he had already lost three other aircraft). The fact that he was tenacious enough to survive being a POW doesn’t entitle him to use a wrecking ball on our country.

Rick Perry: “There are three reasons Trump should never be president. 1. He doesn’t respect POWs, 2. He never served and——and—— I know there was another one...”
