After studying public opinion for many years, I think I have fairly good understanding of what shapes the typical American’s political views. There is, however, one topic that has me flummoxed: why so many Americans still hold rosy opinions about Barack Obama as the president and as a person.
Pollingreport.com posted the latest polls by about a dozen organizations plumbing Americans’ recent opinions about Obama’s job performance. Most major poll results showed approval of his job performance averaged 45-46%. Disapproval averaged two or three percentage points higher. A CNN/ORC poll conducted June 26-28, however, showed his job approval at 50% while 47% disapproved. The Gallup poll’s daily tracking report for July 14, 2015 showed Obama’s job performance rating at 46% approval vs. 49% disapproval. (Approval of Obama’s job performance will probably increase following the deal with Iran.)
The same organizations’ recent polls showed positive perceptions of Obama as a person frequently exceed 50%. (His reputation for honesty dipped when it was revealed that he lied to sell Obamacare, but has since recovered.)
What’s difficult to understand about this is that when the same organizations plumb opinions about topics -- such as the country’s direction, perceptions of economic conditions, views of U.S. influence abroad, etc. -- that correlate robustly with presidential job approval, the results are usually abysmal, and ought negatively to affect dispositions about Obama. (When George W. Bush was president, for example, abysmal opinions on these issues drove his job approval ratings )
This essay attempts to comprehend why, despite his policy failures at home and abroad, scandals, and lies, many Americans continue to approve of Obama’s job performance and regard him favorably as a person. At least five major factors seem to play a part:

If we had an independent press in this country telling the citizens the truth his approval rating would be 12%.

5. MTV, Facebook, Mr/Ms/It Jenner, Twitter, new Mac Watch, Game of Thrones, etc, etc, etc.
The reason is two fold, one, he gave the kitchen sink to millions, and two, America idiots haven’t the slightest idea about politics.
Did we really win the Cold War?
I’ve had to rethink that in light of what has occurred.
Russia is ruled by the KGB (under a different set of letters)
The U.S. has a communist in the Rainbow House fundamentally transforming us.
Find the Communist Goals read into the Congressional record in 1963 and tell me if we won the Cold War.
Most of those goals have been met or are on their way to being met.
Give him credit. The man has a golden tongue.
He says things that often sound plausible and reasonable in isolation, but his intent is deceptive. He’s also a serial liar and says whatever is convenient to his aims.
And, he (or ValJar, or whoever comes up with his programs and talking points) is/are a master at divide and conquer.
I don’t think many do anymore. The media lies and phony surveys make it look that way.

We certainly THOUGHT we had won the Cold War by 1992. The seminal event that heralded victory was when the Soviet Union officially dissolved.
The counter-intuitive part is that, instead of defeat, this presented a golden OPPORTUNITY for the Marxists because we got lazy and stupid as a result of our apparent victory. It gave us the comfort level we needed to elect people like Bill Clinton.
Within 10 years of the collapse of Communism, you had people openly hawking the benefits of Marxism. This found a particularly receptive audience in young people who had no memory of the Evil Empire.
The irony is that today, even Russia seems friendlier to religion than the US does.

Yes, I believe many people lie to pollsters for a number of reasons. My wife does it for fun, just to screw up the poll. But, I think many white folk bought into this guy’s Hope & Change BS in 2008 & 2012 and they are still holding out hope that their votes were not wasted. Many were motivated by media-induced whitey guilt, which lingers to this day. If Odumbo were 100% white, he would be at < 30% now, retired in Hawaii after his first term, or thrown out of office after his impeachment trial. Let’s call a spade a spade! This guy is terrible...with apologies to Donald Trump! Oops, not supposed to say spade anymore! OK, let’s call a tool a tool! Haha!

This is it. It's why he was elected. Americans desperately want this long racial nightmare to be over.
Unfortunately, the masses failed to see that voting for someone because of his race is as racist as refusing to vote for someone because of his race. It's the same thing.
Millions of Americans allowed themselves to be blinded by their desire to end racism.
They failed to recognize this willful blindness for what it is--denial--the denial that leads inexorably to tragedy.
Only truth can save them. Truth allows honest appraisal and makes possible the solution of problems.
Instead, millions of Americans--and notably the intelligentsia--augmented the denial by silencing anything that threatened it. An honest appraisal of Obama was prohibited and silenced. Those in denial perceived it as racism, unwilling to recognize this perception as a projection of their own racism, the racism that allowed them to vote for a candidate because of race but not against a candidate because of race, a distinction that existed only in their delusions, delusions that had become the consensus of millions of people.
These delusions and this denial still cloud the minds of millions of Americans. They cannot appraise Obama objectively.
I think people hate to feel they made stupid choices and hate even more knowing they made stupid choices to be told they made a bad choice.
There is now such a massive connection to government employment, government unions and pensions, EBT, WIC, welfare, medicare and such that you can literally run Hitler as a Democrat and could still get a large percentage of vote.
We have had destruction of the middle class and an ax taken to the savings accounts of savers due to the non existent interest rates because they are kept low due to the national debt.
So much dependency has been created that Democrats have it easier by far reaching a majority in voting.

Every time I go to the food store, in the checkout line, there are magazines with cover stories about people I've never heard of, usually referred to by their first name.
On those covers, you frequently find "Barack" or "Barack and Michelle". You never (never) found "George and Laura", and you will never find "Ted and Heidi".
Those mags circulate in the millions, and their readers vote.
If they support a Black President they’ll go to Heaven ?
People don't seem to be comparing what he actually does with what he says.
He talks socialism and cloaks it in words like fairness and income equity.
People don't get he means uniformity and that would be a lower standard of life for all.
People don't also get that a $15 minimum wage means what savings you have will be worth far less. Your life long saved $100,000 would with a $15 minimum wage will convert thzt money to $35,000 in spending power.
In Europe I saw they wanted 4 times as much for food and articles under their socialism. They value add tax 300% to everything and have 100 year mortgages because of socialism.
People have zero education here about socialism and that behavior is gently pushed through the teacher's union and various Professors in College.
I look at it all and wonder when the public will either hit the streets like Greece or in protest of socialism in America because we have a choice and will get one or the other.
