Ted Cruz on Friday called for congressional hearings toward allowing members of the armed services to carry guns in military facilities, in the wake of the shooting at a military recruitment center in Chattanooga, Tenn., and said the shooting illustrated the need to fix the immigration laws.
On Thursday, four Marines were killed and three other people were injured when Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez opened fire on two military facilities in Chattanooga.
In a statement, Cruz called Abdulazeez’s actions “an act of war,” and said he “was there to carry out jihad, an act of radical Islamic terrorism.”
“While we might wish it otherwise, the forces of radical Islam are at war with us — here and now,” Cruz said, faulting President Barack Obama for describing the shooter as a “lone gunman.”
“In the modern world,” Cruz said, “no one acts in isolation. Through social media ISIS, al Qaida and other groups are infiltrating our nation with impunity while our government will not even admit that radical Islamic terrorism is a problem.”
Cruz said the shooting needs to be acknowledged as a terrorist attack immediately, and called for actions to be taken to allow members of the armed forces to protect themselves against such situations.

What I’ve been saying for years - and it came from Senator Cruz. Cruz or lose!
Bill Cowan raised an interesting possibility a few minutes ago on FOX.
He pointed to Jordan having very effective intell and being a good ally. He said he hopes that this doesn’t turn out to be the case of Jordan warning is about the shooter and our government ignoring it like was done with the Tzarnaev brothers.
Lock down the borders for at least 5 years and in the meantime appoint a commission to come up with a decent immigration policy.
And for GOD’S SAKE, start deporting illegals.
Neither of which will happen under this America-hating regime.
I’m angry about what’s happening to America...... We have wonderful soldiers.... fellow citizens who love America and try to protect us.......And we repay their courage and dedication to protecting us by creating .....”Gun Free Zones” .... where trained military personal are sitting ducks to crazy islamists....... 4 DEAD MARINES....... because their Constitutional 2nd Amendment rights to protect themselves were taken away......

I’ll bet amajority of ALL americans would like to see an immigration overhaul, yet only two candidates out of about 20 running for president have the courage to propose it.

Sorry, Senator, YOU have all the authority and ability to DO something about it, being a member of Congress...DO IT.
Because they must, Pentagon chair polishers entrust our men and women in uniform with million-dollar equipment daily; however, they are not entrusted with a personal weapon with which to defend themselves against terrorists.
This is an unspeakable infamy.
Word! It also says these folks should be armed.
