US cops say they reacted because Boston bus passengers panicked leading to court appearance for 26-year-old
A 26-year-old metal fan was arrested in Boston, Massachusetts, on Friday, for wearing a fake bullet belt.
Kevin Young was apprehended after he boarded a bus wearing the traditional heavy music fans garb, along with spiked gloves and bracelets.
Hes was charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct but the charges were later dropped.
A police report says cops only acted because others on board the bus panicked and called for help claiming Young was carrying a gun.
Boston Police Department report: Officers responded to a call for a person with a gun. The driver had pulled the bus over as passengers began calling 911, when a male suspect boarded the bus with what appeared to be military-grade ammunition strapped around his waist.
The driver stated the passengers were in a panic, fearing that the suspect was about to pull out a weapon.
Kevin Young exited the bus and was stopped by police, at which time it was discovered the ammunition was fake.
Officers say they recovered 69 replica bullets and describe Youngs arm decoration as spiked fighting gloves.
The charges were dropped after prosecutors established that the bullets “could not and were not intended to be fired,” said a spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
“When did we become a nation of weenies?”
No kidding. In 1967 I took an SKS carbine that my Dad picked up overseas to `Show and Tell.’ And some !#*% stole my VC flag.
I was 28 years old. (No. Twelve and a 1/2.)
Look at it this way: 25 years old, metal fan, lives in Boston=most likely a democrat. After being persecuted, he may see the light and repent... and maybe few of his friends too
And then Metallica came along and killed glam rock.
Dude, I’ve got pics of Metallica where they used a lot of Aquanet. Not that I care because metal is my favorite Music still.
Nah, it was Grunge that killed Hair bands. Bunch of kids wearing their Grandpa’s sweaters, and flannel.
Yup. And the really funny thing was that there was a lot of guys were into them too. So you had the stud and leather crowd and the glam metal crowd both liking these guys in fruity get ups, just the stud and leather guys didn’t know it, even when it was actually fairly obvious looking back I guess.

Saw Morbid Angel with Deicide in L.A. 2 years ago and I was with my metal girlfriend. Walked her home close to Skid Row and no one bothered us. I’m probably the only Freeper who saw cannibal Corpse 3 times.
Didn’t Cliff state he liked REM? Besides, he looked like a asshat. I saw the early 90 shows with Newsted and the dude was a headbanger on stage.
Poison and Ratt
Funny you mentioned those 2. Met both bands in Charleston WV. Same show. Poison’s first national tour.
All pretty fun guys. We had a blast, plenty of BEAUTIFUL women backstage. Back in the days before we realized we weren’t going to live to 30 if we didn’t quit being stupid.
Only one I didn’t meet that night was Stephan Pearcy, and I met him in Charlotte on a solo club tour many years later.
Call them crappola if you like, but CC Deville, and Robin Crosby were two of the best.
I have that exact fan! lol
Burton had different musical tastes than the rest of the band for sure. I think he got them into BOC and Skynyrd. I always thought he was the cool. He head banged like a maniac. He looked like cousin It on meth.

“Good thing the guy didnt have a Pop Tart nibbled into the shape of a gun. The SWAT team would have been called.”
And the cops would have found a dog to shoot somewhere. You know, just for kicks.
Dude, no doubt you are right. A lot of those bands I probably just judged on appearance and dismissed their music like a tool anyhow.

if you ever come to L.A watch the Behind the Music video. All those places where Megadeth started and Mustaine lived, I know exactly where those places are. I’ll show you around ;)
At least the glam rockers acted like they enjoyed what they were doing, being rock stars. A lot of the grunge guys seemed to act like this terrible thing was inflicted on them with all the angst.

Ha, I just listened to ‘Peace Sells...’ the other day. ‘The conjuring’ is a great song.

You ain’t kidding. Grunge made music look painful. Then Cobain shoots himself.
Liked “Soundgarden”, and “Temple of the Dog”, Some “Pearl Jam” until Eddie Vedder turned into an idiot.
One good thing that came from it is Dave Grohl. The “Foo Fighters” are one of the best today, and Grohl is darn talented.
Grohl is a big metal head, I guess he had to kind of keep it quiet, as metal was mocked in that crowd. I heard a story where they used to make fun of Venom, they didn’t realize Cronos was actually hilarious and a lot of the goofy stage banter was tongue in cheek.

I met Dave AND got his autograph with selfie. He’s one of “us”. I think I posted this a year ago and he told me he reads FR LOL. Told him I first saw him in canada live at the PNE and he couldn;t remember it. I thought that’s good because the crowd didn’t mosh until Peace Sells. If you don;t mosh at the OP of a Deth’ show, you’re a fag.
They would sure notice if it wasn't real!
you got me there
Very, very cool indeed.
