Poor Quislings, they no not what they do.
They will never get rid of the fuel tax and the drivers will be stuck with another tax.
It is about control.
Not taxes.
Back in the day (’70’s) there was this place that was owned by the eventual mayor of Portland (Bud Clark maybe). Anyway, he owned “The Goose Hollow Inn” in the burbs. They had the best toasted Reuben sandwich I have ever had the pleasure to consume. They had a chess night and was smokeless...I loved the place and especially the sandwich.
If it is that important and worth while, why don’t you just MANDATE the program for ALL PUBLIC EMPLOYEES!!
then tell us how well it works
Why should vehicle drivers pay road taxes that will be substantially used for non-road issues, especially green issues, bike lanes, etc?
I recently moved from Oregon after similar intrusive policies were put into place. This is just another unwanted and unnecessary ploy to monitor and control movements of the general population. I absolutely do not want to have to have my vehicle inspected yearly by anyone but a trusted mechanic. Where I go and what I do at any time is none of their friggin’ business. How about no transportation type taxes, period.
These hybrid and clean-car drivers are using less fuel, correct? Wasn’t this the objective?
OreGo....OreGone........OreGasm.........
While heading north on the NJ Tpke. I stayed in the EZ Pass lane towards the GW Bridge.
There was no toll booth until I actually got to the bridge, but the non EZ Pass vehicles had to stop and pay several miles before the Hudson.
They scanned my Pass and charged the count without my even slowing down.
This is an ominous development.
Only place I got for them to plug into is my cigarette lighter. Y’all reckon that would work?
I am curious. Elected officials did this? Is it what the people who elected them WANTED, or was it something the “elected” officials just did themselves because they thought it was “best” for everyone?
If you would like more information about what's happening in Oregon, please FReepmail me.
I lost my Oregon list when my computer crashed last year, so please send me your name by FReepmail if you want to be on this list.
How will they tax the people living in Kansas that have their vehicles tagged in Oregon Will the miles they drive on Kansas roads be calculated?
Nooooooooooo
So, does the state also get to tax you on miles driven in other states?
Oregon State University was receiving federal grants to engineer this. The first one was around $400,000 & then there were several follow-on grants. They really want to be able to add a GPS, the stated intent being to charge higher rates on roads that have higher maintenance costs, like the mountain passes. Still, that would give them info on every place every driver goes. No thanks!
Another “moral high ground” commie taxation and control operation. Not rich? Sorry, you will have to live in the city and use the criminal, racist, stinky and crammed buses. They will tax gas like they taxed tobacco or worse. Agenda 21 in action.
