Surveillance video, obtained by Channel 9 shows more than a dozen people stealing weapons from a gun show at the Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orange County over the Fourth of July weekend.
According to Orlando police, nearly 20 guns were taken from one of the gun show booths after the show closed for the day on July 6.
Police said the weapons include handguns and rifles, and those guns are still on the streets.
Channel 9's Kathi Belich learned the group of burglars got into the building through a door on the east end of the main building by smashing the glass after cutting through the chains locking the gate.
Police said about 12 young men raced in, grabbed the guns and fled. They said the burglars were in the building for about 32 seconds.
Belich was told that one of the Florida Highway Patrol officers working security off duty heard glass shattering on the property. She learned that he arrived at the targeted booth a few minutes after the burglars were gone.
Belich also learned that some of those believed to have been involved in the theft may have been caught roaming the fairgrounds property in recent months and banned from returning to the property.
Police would not tell Belich why the public wasn't warned about the stolen guns when the robbery happened. Police would only say that the investigation is continuing.
Never mind. I watched the video - LOL! It was Shoot Straight out of Apopka. They are probably the largest vendor there.
This must be that LOOPHOLE I’ve heard so much about.
Prayers for those victimized by these thefts, and that the guns might be recovered before anyone is killed or wounded by them, and also prayers for those who stole them.
To many perps to keep a secret. Someone will get pinched and squeal.
Dealers just left their stock lying around?
yes lock up in a box that has no markings. don’t know what’s in a big heavy box and they can’t carry it out although that is not fool proof. pack it back in your truck.
Considering how things are going, we all may need to start practicing that.

So this must be the “Gun Show Loophole” liberal weenies are always whining about.
Having been in trade shows, county fairs and mall kiosks, I can tell you that the "security" officers hired are often responsible for a lot of petty theft of merchandise.
Covering merchandise with tarps is common. Not a high-security practice, but very common.
Now, think about it, a low paid guard who knows he is all alone with lots of "stuff" all night long. The temptation can be overwhelming. In this instance, the cameras probably kept the guard honest, but there is no way of knowing if the Amish Utes paid him off to be in the other building at the right moment...

That’s almost funny. You would think that they would have locked up properly. I am pretty sure they are the largest vendor at all the local shows—they own half of Florida when it comes to guns!
So, how did the Hyenas get in the gun show building to begin with?
Crime is almost non-existent at gun shows. It is a community and everybody runs on the honor system. As such, the building is supposed to be secure and nobody expects to be ripped off by another dealer.
It is kind of shocking that the Hyenas could get in the building so easily and that it is not alarmed.
Neighborhoods definitely matter.
I am on my phone so no video here. But did the dealers just leave the guns laying out on the table? Even if there was fabulous security I wouldn’t leave anything laying around at a flea market like that. I appreciate trust among the dealers, but why tempt anyone with thousands of dollars of inventory. The yuuts are at fault, but if I was the insurance guy for the dealer I would be pissed at their controls.
Broke in through glass door! off duty trooper seen on video had to cover two buildings 50 meters apart. Lookout waited until he was in other building, then sent team in.
Quick grab and gone.
oK, I can see them smashing glass doors. Most gun show buildings are like that. Too bad no alarm.
Time to hire one guard per building. Today, all you have to do is text which building he is in and you are home free.
They found the gun show loophole. Here is hoping the security cameras bag these guys, but that is a tall order.
12 burglars?
I guarantee at least 20 other Amish, out on bond on some non-violent “little problem” like drug sales or possession, are working very hard to ID the gun show burglars, and as a result, get their charges dropped or reduced.
It’s called “working it off.”
