Why Google’s nightmare AI is putting demon puppies everywhere
Washington Post ^ | Jul 8, 2015 | by Jeff Guo

A few weeks ago, Google researchers announced that they had peered inside the mind of an artificial intelligence program.

What they discovered was a demonic hellscape. You’ve seen the pictures.

These are hallucinations produced by a cluster of simulated neurons trained to identify objects in a picture. The researchers wanted to better understand how the neural network operates, so they asked it to use its imagination. To daydream a little.

At first, they gave the computer abstract images to interpret — like a field of clouds. It was a Rorschach test. The artificial neurons saw what they wanted to see, which in this case were mutant animals dredged from the depths of damnation.

God only knows what Google-X is up to. They call it “semi-secret” but from some gatherings I have been able to read about, they are using some heavy, heavy horsepower behind those closed doors.

Total BS you mental freak!!!

Sorry, bro, I know about your 'curmudgeonly old guy' trait, and I totally get how thinking about such horrors would make someone lash out at the article poster, but your reaction does not make my experience untrue.

Google is heavily-represented in the Atlanta area, and they had an Artificial Intelligence Programmer position available. I applied, then I revoked the application.

This stuff is real, man.

Apparently you can do this too, but need python script program and caffe code stuff.

http://www.numpy.org/
http://www.scipy.org/
http://www.pythonware.com/products/pil/
http://ipython.org/
http://continuum.io/downloads
https://store.enthought.com/

http://caffe.berkeleyvision.org/

The code is based on Caffe and uses available open source packages, and is designed to have as few dependencies as possible. To get started, you will need the following (full details in the notebook):

•NumPy, SciPy, PIL, IPython, or a scientific python distribution such as Anaconda or Canopy.
•Caffe deep learning framework (Installation instructions)

Once you’re set up, you can supply an image and choose which layers in the network to enhance, how many iterations to apply and how far to zoom in. Alternatively, different pre-trained networks can be plugged in.

The human thought process is self-correcting. No computer program will ever have that capability.

“Artificial “ and “intelligence “ are mutually exclusive. Intelligence is a characteristic of humans. A computer program carries out instructions written by a human, therefore the perceived intelligence of a program is a simulation of human intelligence.

Simply put: Purely incorrect.

I don’t disagree with that possibility, but the overall point is this. This project was gamed so the Left leaning individuals could get a free pass for demonizing Republicans at will.

I don’t believe this is a factual article. I believe it has been gamed just like the overall effort was top to bottom a predetermined outcome.

Note the Democrat candidates were not included here.

That leaves no doubt what was going on here in the political aspects of this.

They could have simply done the story on the computer derived part of it. They couldn’t do that.

Man what a driven group the Left is. There is nothing they won’t corrupt for their agenda.

Without something corresponding to “will” it always is an initiativeless slave.

The “will’ is there, to expand and evolve. We think of “will” differently, When AI starts to re-write itself it becomes exponential.

The LSD-picture deal is really not my primary concern. I am very alarmed at the thought that artificial intelligence is actually manifested somewhere. That part of the article does not seem false.

Well even with a free association list, if the list only covered GOP persons, the software would have no “reason” to do anything with Democrat persons any more than it would with men from Mars.
