Rep. Louie Gohmert took to the House floor to deliver an impassioned speech about history, with a lesson on hypocrisy, reminding the nation and those on the left the rabbit hole of removing all things perceived as racist – like the Confederate flag – is a deep one that leads right to the Democratic Party.
The context of Gohmert’s remarks was the nationwide condemnation of the Confederate flag, leading to a congressional attempt to boot the banner from some federally managed properties. Gohmert first reminded the cause of the shooting at the Charleston, South Carolina, church that left nine dead – the spark that started this recent anti-Confederate flag effort – was “evil,” rather than a piece of cloth waved by the suspected shooter, Dylann Roof.
“[But] now there’s this big race to go after the Confederate flag,” he said.
He then suggested those who want to erase from U.S. society all symbols and signs that are tainted by anything racist ought to do a complete job of it.
“In thinking about that,” Gohmert said, “I think there is an entity that was so evil in supporting slavery, in fighting against civil rights, in fighting against the Christian brother that Martin Luther King Jr. was … we ought to look at those symbols and ought to look at what they stood for and perhaps ban any political organization [that touted them] from participating in Congress.”
He then read from the Democratic Party’s political platforms from 1856 and from 1860, where it was stated “all efforts of the abolitionists or others made to induce Congress to interfere with questions of slavery … have an inevitable tendency to diminish the happiness of the people and endanger the permanence and stability of the union and ought not to be countenanced by any friend

You ever notice how democrats love totalitarian dictatorships whether Islamic or Communist? I guess there's just something special to them about slave masters that democrats just can't let go of.
Old fashioned conservative republicans have been trying to get people off the democrat plantation for about 154 years. We got them off for awhile, but I guess the plantation isn't so bad if they give you an EBT card, an Obama phone, a place in the hood to live, cable and Netflix and all you have to do is vote periodically for more "masters." Oh yeah, live is good in the hood!
As for me, I kind of like the state motto of New Hampshire - Live free or die.
If people really want to get rid of the symbols and organizations of slavery, then get rid of the donkey symbol and the democrat party that has a real and serious history of being directly involved with slavery.
You’re not suppose to say that Mr. Gohmert. It upsets the masses. We have been told, by democrats, since the 60’s that somehow a cosmic shift of all racist black hating bigots turned republican and all kind hearted black loving care-about-the-little-guy Santa Klauses turned democrat. Uh Huh.

That Donkey as the symbol of the Dimocrats wasn't around during the days of slavery.
However, I'm all for getting rid of the democRAT party.
It's an ignored motto. Red Hampshire allows its citizens to paint over the motto if they find it offensive. "It don't mean a thing" in Red Hampshire.
Even if the exact opposite happened, as we know it did, the American people will always believe the lie.

However, I'm all for getting rid of the democRAT party.
It was certainly around shortly after the end of the Civil War during reconstruction, or should I say, while the democrats were doing everything they could to impede reconstruction. The democrats used their terrorism organization, the KKK to threaten, intimidate and murder anyone that wanted other than one party rule in the south.
It sounds like a good start to me!
He is right. And furthermore, Republicans should take care to avoid being drawn into defending Democrat history.
The DNC is the party of slavery and slave economics, KKK, race murder, race repression, lynch mobs, fire hoses, and all the rest. They continue to be obsessed by race even unto the present day.
They are a party with a guilty conscience, and a peculiar obsession, and they are forever trying to project that guilt and that obsession onto the rest of the world. Especially, they are forever trying to re-write their history. And who could blame them; with that history, what choice have they got?

Gohmert should introduce a bill outlawing all political parties that are infested with Communists and have a history of supporting slavery and segregation.

EVERY SINGLE atrocity against blacks has been orchestrated by dim-0s. EVERY governor who called out the national guard, every governor who stood in school house doors, every governor who sicced dogs or had blacks shot with water cannon, were dim-0s!!
AND, TO THIS DAY, dim-0s and other white supremist types are the ONLY people who think that blacks are SO INFERIOR as to need a head start, affirmative action, to achieve what other races do.
