Does Jeb Bush Understand Economics?
Newsweek ^ | 7/10/15 | KURT EICHENWALD

Posted on 07/10/2015 9:07:56 AM PDT by jimbo123

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush set off a firestorm this week by appearing to say in a newspaper interview that Americans should work longer hours. Democrats pounced, even as the Bush campaign said his comments were taken out of context.

But everyone is missing the real story. Whether Bush’s comment was a criticism of American workers or a lament about a weakened job market, his words demonstrated such a lack of knowledge of economics that it’s virtually impossible to understand what was the context of his words.

No. I have listened to him a lot of late and I don’t’ think he understands anything.

Who can resist a title like that? Does the Jebster understand anything except his mommy and daddy told him he’s entitled to be the next President?

His father and brother certainly didn't, so I doubt Jeb does.

Yeb Bush is clueless about almost everything except his burning ambition to turn the USA into North Mexico.

I thin this particular controversy is blown way out of proportion. That doesn’t mean I think Bush understands economics (he doesn’t), it just seems that seizing on one sentence that could be taken multiple ways is nothing but link bait, not real analysis.

Only 47% of working adults in this country have full time jobs. So while I agree with what he’s saying. I don’t believe he’s the one to fix this problem.

It was my understanding that he meant people should be able to get back to real full time 40 hour jobs instead of having to work 2 and 3 jobs to make up enough hours to earn a decent living.

He undoubtedly understands that the Bushes and Clintons of the world will continue to live lives of satisfaction comfort — not matter what happens with the economy.

He has no clue about competitive economics. Centrally commanded and controlled and crony capitalism, he knows. It doesn’t work but he knows all about it.

His rationale for Amnestying millions of illegals is to "take it off the table as a campaign issue."

Anyone who says that you can put a stop to identity politics by injecting an enormous new victim group into the political scene is nothing more than a simpleton or a very, very evil liar.

At the very least Jeb needs to work on his communications skills.

Companies should offer more hours i believe would be appropriate for the candidate to say.

The majority of voters don’t understand economics. Sound economic concepts cannot be sold to them.

Americans should work longer hours.

Working longer hours and more people working, both increase the supply of labor.Increases in the supply of labor leads to increased division of labor and increased capital intensiveness. Both of these lead to increased productivity of labor, which leads to increased efficiency, which leads to increased total productive ability, which leads to increased production, which leads to increase supply, which leads to lower prices, which leads to increased real wage rates and higher standard of living for the average wage earner and the middle class.

At the very least he has to be clear when he speaks. It’s his job to sell without having people scratch their heads and wonder what he meant.

Instead of everyone wondering what his point is, they should be impressed and energized with his campaign.

The GOP has wanted the illegal alien issue off the table since the 2006 amnesty attempt. They ran the author of that plan and the one that followed in 2007 as the candidate in 2008 to try to force GOP voters to endorse amnesty.
Romney lied about not supporting amnesty, Most knew he was lying as he exposed himself right after he lost, supporting Rubberio’s Gang Bill. That was supposed to have gotten passed last summer to take it off the table for Yeb Bush’s run. We voters of the 7th VA threw a monkey wrench into that plan when we threw out the weasel Eric Cantor.

The Cheap labor Express has invested billions of dollars buying the GOP. They were supposed to convince us to vote for amnesty.

Trump is upsetting the apple cart.
