Buchanan: The Coming Era of Civil Disobedience
World News Daily ^ | July 9, 2015 | Pat Buchanan

Posted on 07/09/2015 7:50:45 PM PDT by campaignPete R-CT

The Oklahoma Supreme Court, in a 7-2 decision, has ordered a monument of the Ten Commandments removed from the state Capitol.

Calling the Commandments “religious in nature and an integral part of the Jewish and Christian faiths,” ... monument must go.

Gov. Mary Fallin has refused. And Oklahoma lawmakers instead have filed legislation to let voters cut out of their constitution the specific article the justices invoked. Some legislators want the justices impeached.

Fallin’s action seems a harbinger of what is to come in America – an era of civil disobedience like the 1960s, where court orders are defied and laws ignored in the name of conscience and a higher law.

Only this time, the rebellion is likely to arise from the right.

SNIP

U.S. Supreme Court decisions have been defied and those who defied them lionized by modernity. Thomas Jefferson freed all imprisoned under the sedition act, including those convicted in court trials presided over by Supreme Court justices. Jefferson then declared the law dead.

> snip >>>>

If a family disagreed as broadly as we Americans do on issues so fundamental as right and wrong, good and evil, the family would fall apart, the couple would divorce, and the children would go their separate ways.

Something like that is happening in the country.

A secession of the heart has already taken place in America, and a secession, not of states, but of people from one another, caused by divisions on social, moral, cultural and political views and values, is taking place.

America is disuniting, Arthur Schlesinger Jr. wrote 25 years ago.

And for those who, when young, rejected the views, values and laws of Eisenhower’s America, what makes them think that dissenting Americans in this post-Christian and anti-Christian era will accept their laws, beliefs, values?

Why should they?

it is only fear of punishment that gives me pause.

I believe that applies to a lot of us.

...the president and attorney general routinely ignore laws..

They persuaded SCOTUS to find the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional (one man, one woman)so they could find same sex marriage constitutional. Vile, worthless scum.

I can’t tell if you are serious or sarcastic.
There are a lot of versions of the song...
-
Dinah Shore - “I Wish I Was in Dixie” (1953)

-
Elvis Presley - An American Trilogy - I wish I was in Dixieland (1973)

I happen to like this one:
Dixie (The Hastings College Choir)

-
Similar to the above:

There wasn’t much civil about the first one either.
All we’re asking is that the laws be enforced, for equal protection of law and due process, substantive and procedural—it applies to them as well!—and that the Bill of Rights be respected.
In other words, as he points out all we want is what the left squawked about incessantly in the 20th century.
And we’re tired of asking.

He’s got things backwards.

We don’t need civil disobedience. What we need is civil obedience, to the laws of nature and nature’s God, which are the basis for the rule of law in America, and to the Constitution of the United States.

It is those in power who are practicing civil disobedience - of the unjust, ungodly, unrighteous, unlawful, unconstitutional kind.

I predict that government on all levels is going to disintegrate. Once the conservatives leave out of disgust, there will be no one left to run the country.

Can anyone honestly tell me these liberal millennial types can do the job? That some artsy barista can wave a gun? Hell, he/she/it can’t even wave a butterfly net. The “cool” hipsters, for whom corporations are turning PC somersaults, have no loyalty to anyone. They’ll simply move on to the next hi-tech or party center. Minorities? Yeah, right. Just like Baltimore.

Although I’m no fan of Buchanan, I think he has been spot on about a lot of things.

It is time. Past time for defiance of tyranny.

The states may become in rebellion to the feral government.

States could reject the EPA, HUD, HHS, Education. Retain the fuel taxes and do not convey them to the feral government.

A civil disobedience would almost have to be by the states since the individual citizen is powerless to fight and can’t organize sufficiently. The feral government can always have more resources than the individual or private sector and can easily defeat the individual but it can’t defeat the mass of public position and disobedience. The laws and regulations that we find so revolting are mostly not something we can stand against in many cases.... for example actions against coal affect us but are taken against the power plants first.

This nonsense of mandating the cities and towns to monitor the racial make-up of neighborhoods and then report back to the feds on plans and progress to more fully integrate neighborhoods... defiance would require the towns and cities to defy the mandate on behalf of the people.

Individually we can’t refuse to pay taxes effectively and starve the beast. The power to garnish wages and appropriate assets would defeat any effort in that regard.

If there were defiance of the SCrOTUS ruling on QUEER marriage cna be defied by the churches but the churches must have layered protections. There needs to be a guide for this of legal layering to protect individuals and assets of the church. For a time, the church must be willing to forego at least the feral portion of the tax exempt status. For most honest churches this will only affect the feral tax status of donations.

I certainly do not feel any moral reservations.

We are in a survival situation. Faced with the survival of your family and you or someone else... what do you choose to do? Decide now.

That democrat flag should have never been put up and I’m glad the Republicans are finally taking it down.

If it means “Southern Pride” to someone, yippy for them, they can fly the damn thing in front of their house and stop being offended that some people don’t like it and don’t think it belongs on public property.

They can paint it on their cars, they can wear a t-shirt of it. They can do whatever they like.
