Jade Helm 15, the controversial Special Operations exercise that spawned a wave of conspiracy theories about a government takeover, will open next week without any media allowed to observe it, a military spokesman said.
Embedded reporters wont be permitted at any point during the exercise, in which military officials say that secretive Special Operations troops will maneuver through private and publicly owned land in several southern states. Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria, a spokesman for Army Special Operations Command, said his organization is considering allowing a small number of journalists to view selected portions of the exercise later this summer, but nothing is finalized.
All requests from the media for interviews and coverage of U.S. Army Special Operations Command personnel, organizations and events are assessed for feasibility and granted when and where possible, Lastoria said in a statement released Wednesday to The Washington Post. We are dedicated to communicating with the public, while balancing that against the application of operations security and other factors.
The exercise is scheduled for July 15 through September 15 and is expected to include more than 1,200 troops. Army Special Operations Command announced the exercise in March, saying its size and scope would set it apart from most training exercises. For months, some protesters have said Jade Helm is setting the stage for future martial law. Those fears have been mocked by comedians such as Jon Stewart and others, and the U.S. military has tried to reassure people about the exercise.
The Army says the size and scope of Jade Helm 15, a Special Operations exercise that begins in July, set it apart from other training exercises. Also setting it apart: The widespread conspiracy theories that the U.S. is preparing to hatch martial law.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I dont think theyre transiting through private land without permission for this drill, but the point remains.
**************************************
A fellow Freeper posted here a week or so ago that he knew they were going to be crossing his ranch/land.
Apparently, permission has been sought and given for this exercise on private properties.
” These military guys will be in and about regular citizens without the citizens knowing it, but the Rangers will know where they are and what theyre doing. We dont cotton to federal soldiers roaming around Texas.”
I haven’t heard anything about the Texas Rangers. I did read that the Texas State Guard was going to monitor the exercise.
I’m sure the US Military is terrified hahahahahahaha.
Government Zombie.
Look at the Nazi’s.. like all such cowards they love the subjugation of others as long as they are exempt and can play the superior beings. Once the blood flows, if it is theirs they will run... if it is yours they will laugh and make you tube videos.
“I was wondering about that too....maneuvering through private land? Do they have the permission of the landowners?”
Yes they have permission, that was established months ago. I might add that some of the operatives are already in place and have been here for a while now. If your going to play cat and mouse game’s you don’t turn them all lose at the same time.

Yes they do, which is why the whole thing is such a joke.”
You think our troops training to take out terrorist cell’s embedded in local communities is a joke?

I believe that person would be me and yes permission was asked and granted. The ranch is 42 square miles and has hill’s surrounding most of it. Due to the unique terrain and the ability to train unnoticed by the public they requested access.
Isn’t Jon Stewart the Clayton Bigsby of Jews?
I don’t know what to think about all of this. On one hand they declare anyone suspicious of this as crazy conspiracy theorists but when you look at everything THIS particular administration has done, you would be stupid to trust them. Nothing but lies have been told to the American people. High ups in the military have been purposely gotten rid of. Targeting Americans that disagree with them and the list goes on and on of reasons to be suspicious of anything and everything that goes on while these America haters are running things. I just hope Freepers within the area can keep the rest of us informed with what is really going on.
How hard will this be in border states where illegals are passing through all the time? Maybe they should do this in states that don’t have this problem if they really want some practice at sneaking around people’s property.
I would have told them to pound sand! The last thing I’d want is obozos military tromping over my land!
“I would have told them to pound sand! The last thing Id want is obozos military tromping over my land!”
I’m an old Vet and more than happy to allow this training to take place. If you have terrorist cell’s operating in US cities it makes sense to practice in the area’s they may have to operate in.
“Im sure the US Military is terrified hahahahahahaha.”
We prefer to know where they are and what they are doing. That’s it.
If the US military is in our state, we want to know what they are doing and where they are doing it. That is what Gov. Abbott has arranged.
Very responsible of you, and glad to read your perspective.
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!

Posse Comitaus?
Last week courts ruled the 3rd amendment invalid.
