“Blue Bloods” is about my husband’s favorite tv show. Selleck is a good ACTOR. That whole scenario on BB is a total lie as far as how any of the actors on it really live. (Husband would like the total “entire extended family sitting down to dinner together every night”; but somebody has to cook it & most won’t. They like to eat; but cooking ain’t their thing.) I’m getting too old for that now; so he lives vicariously through shows like “Blue Bloods”. - I remember Selleck more for the “Jesse Stone” boozing public official show from a while back.
I had read most of the Jesse Stone books before watching the movies, was expecting the final book when Parker died.

I used to watch it because I love love love Tom Selleck. (Did I mention I love Tom Selleck?) But after a while I couldn’t take it any more.
The grammar the writers use is atrocious. Selleck says something like, “Me and my friends like to go fishing.” A man who’s risen to the position of Police Commissioner in NY would say, “My friends and I...”. The teenage girl, a student of some private hoity-toity school, says “Me and my friends want to go to the city”. Reflects badly on a parochial school education. Even if the writers are ignorant, you’d think at least one of the actors would correct it. At least one of them must’ve attended 6th grade. Grammar consistently is irritating on that show.
The teenage girl, with her smug look and uppity nose in the air is just creepy.
I do like how the Commissioner responds to ignorant questions from the press.
