The gun used to kill a 32-year-old woman on San Franciscos waterfront was stolen from a federal agent in a car burglary in June, sources close to the investigation said Tuesday.
The .40-caliber pistol was stolen from the agent not long before Kathryn Steinle was shot to death July 1 at Pier 14 on the Embarcadero, said one source, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk about the case publicly.

Morpe importantly, was the officer in question a member of one of our many “protected classes “?

That’s impossible. This poor, innocent immigrant just found it on the pier. He wouldn’t have been lying, would he?

Never happen.
One of my clients that is a FBI agent left his FBI Chevy Suburban unlocked in front of his house in Berkeley with several fully auto weapons and thousands of rounds of ammo.
It got stolen, and has never been found, but he has not been reprimanded in any way.

.40 is a very popular caliber for concealed backup guns.
They can also be useful for planting on a ‘suspect.’

Dang the NRA! Why don’t we have sensible laws against stealing guns from federal agents, and murdering innocent women?
To: artichokegrower
This would jive with his story that he ‘found’ the gun. Criminals always rationalize. A burglar told police he had permission from me to burgle my business.

This just gets better and better. Indeed. I couldn't have written a better script unless it had been a F&F gun.

It was likely stolen out of some secret service agent’s locker while he was busy protecting owebama during a visit to a SF gay bath house during a “fundraiser” ...make that FUNraiser.
