As Republican infighting grows, donors call for calm

WASHINGTON (AP) — Worried about "Republican on Republican violence," top party donors are taking action, with one firing off a letter calling for more civility and another seeking to block businessman Donald Trump from the debate stage altogether.

Foster Friess, a Wyoming-based investor and one of the party's top 20 donors in the last presidential contest, issued a letter to 16 White House prospects and the Republican National Committee late last week calling for candidates to stay on the "civility reservation."

"Our candidates will benefit if they all submit to Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment, 'Thou shall not speak ill of a fellow Republican,'" Friess wrote in a copy of the letter sent to Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus and obtained by The Associated Press.

Banning Trump would be the worst thing they could do.

John Jordan and all who heed his call need to be hit between the eyes with a two by four as many times as it takes to get it into their thick skulls that what they want would throw the election away before they are even on the field. We are more than tired of managed primaries and an elite selected short list. Glad hand us and you might as well save your time and money.

The dlowns that put over $100 million behind GOPe good ole boy Jeb are hoping not to loose their investment this early.

The GOPe running Jeb shows just how out of touch they are. If they didn’t know the Bush brand wouldn’t go over so well, they’re more clueless than I imagined.

"The Jeb big money guys are afraid Bush is really a Mexican and can’t hold his own in a real fight."

Correct.

They know if the mud starts flying, Bush will be exposed as the corrupt simpleton and traitor that he is.

They NEED this primary to be quiet and uneventful...UNTIL Bush and his allies start spending a billion dollars destroying all the competition.

You’re in good company with the MSM, pro-politicians, big party insider donors, Mexico, Univision, lawless open border Communist, lobbyist, influence peddlers, celebrites etc.

Silence Trump

Just what we need the donors dictating to the RNC. That’s whats wrong with the political scene. Trump was right when he said the politicians will never get you to the promised land. They are all beholden to the donors they have to bow down to to get money to run. All but Trump.

Let them fight.

Let the cream (Cruz) rise to the top. He has the ability to get his point across quit eloquently. Jerks like Bush and Rubio can’t make the points that the base wants to hear.
Constitutional Principles must come first. Not the tired old beltway Hack-fest. Cruz will bring back the base who the GOPe serially ignores

I don't believe Responsible want to silence trump.

He's not that kind of conservative. I believe he thinks Trump will flame out on his own.

The problem is the stupids think this will raise their poll numbers by attacking Trump. They really are the party of stupid, aren’t they?

Its fun watching Trump but he is not a conservative. He follows the money just like all the other politicians.

The AP is very, very concerned about the Republicans, folks.

So concerned, that the Republicans may not nominate another RINO loser who'll concede graciously to Hillary.

Oh no! Can't have someone challenge the establishment noooo! Who will hold fancy cocktail parties and invite celebrities in the WH again?

Trump stands to make a LOT more money by staying out of the race, or advocating for open borders/Amnesty and TPA/TPP.

A LOT more. It would increase his margin at every property by at least 3%.

Net Profit.

"Someone in the party ought to start some sort of petition saying, 'If Trump's going to be on the stage, I'm not going to be on there with him,'" Jordan told AP on Monday. "I'm toying with the idea of it."

A real problem in the Republican party, all these big donors acting like perfumed princes who think they should call the shots and, apparently, even decide who can or can't participate in debates.

If 'Rinse'is dumb enough to listen to characters like this buffoon, he can succeed in further alienating the already alienated and also increase their numbers.

These donors aren't so worried about Trump's criticizing opponents as they are about the issues he's raising that they don't want to have debated: cheap illegal alien labor and sell out trade agreements.

I’m in good company with conservatives who remember how Trump supported Hillary. Who remembers how Trump threw conservatives under the bus in 2012 and who know he is a snake oil salesman with a bad toupee who will once again betray conservatives as he embarrasses himself.

“Silence Trump”? Never. No one could do that.

Let him have his say - let this Attention Whore have his glory. And when he is done making a fool of himself - in spite of whatever good things he might now say or do - then we let the adults debate.

But all those who agree with that mindset want this guy silenced.

Some still on the gravy train never figured it out. People have had enough of this reckless betrayal of trust.

If they can somehow silence Trump and we go back to business as usual, electing another bought and paid for professional career politician, we’re all but done IMO.
