I posted this for the insightful comment made by Caleb Child.
You know, when I talk to most people about the confederate flag, what most people honestly say is the first thing they think about is "The Dukes of Hazzard." Not its historical role, not its implications of racism, but an old TV show.
I know it sounds like a stretch, the sort of thing that sits near a conspiracy theory, but honestly, I feel like taking Dukes of Hazzard off the air is more about trying to avoid putting the confederate flag in a positive light more than anything else. It's not because they think people will be offended by the flag, but that they don't want to let people NOT be offended by the flag.
Seriously, when did the show itself ever try to support racist ideals? When did it ever try to say that slavery should still exist? When did it ever support a white supremacist position?
Truth be told, the show is more of a threat to the idea that people bearing the confederate battle flag are all racist that it is a threat to racial tolerance.
They are offended by the idea that someone would think differently than they do, and in a move that's bigotry at its finest, they try to stop anything that might lead people to consider a different point of view.
Is there a Trump channel?
Where does it stop?
What flag!? All I see in that picture is Daisy Duke floating in space. Wasn’t there a car ands a coupla’ guys in that show as well?
They don’t have the CGI technology to replace the Confederate flag with a Rainbow flag?
There was a CJ7 with a custom paint scheme that I didn’t care for as well. Loved the jeep though.
IMHO, this whole rebel flag business is nothing but a temper tantrum from a bunch of crybaby dumbass liberals with nothing to do who really need to grow up. Nobody can tell me that Dukes of Hazzard DIDN’T have a huge African American fan base when it was originally aired. These days, everyone in this country are a bunch of morons with nothing to do but spend all their time looking for things that offend them
I love Michigan.
I think I’ll pop a Sam Adams Lager and watch my pilot DVD of the Dukes of Hazzard tonight. God Bless the General Lee and God Bless America! The Great OZ has spoken.
I’ll take a Daisy Duke over a Sandra Fluke any day, any where, any time.
And the car isn’t bad looking either.
I’ve seen four Confederate flags displayed in E.Central Minnesota, in the last week, not counting my own.
I’m sure that if Warner Bros spent some time digitally replacing Daisy Duke with Caitlyn Jenner the TV Land folks would be more flexible regarding the General Lee’s decorations.
After they've blown up Stone Mountain with dynamite.
This is just part of trend toward a dystopia where every thought and action is controlled.
What was it Mooch said: All this just for a flag.
But Libs will expend more energy to try and crush the Confederate flag, because its THEM that are so full of HATE.
This company won’t back down on the Confederate flag. I have purchased several Confederate and old style U.S flags from them over the last few years, very authentic.
