On Tuesday, someone broke into an underground vault in Sacramento, and cut several high-capacity internet cables. Nobody knows who this person is or why they did it, but since that time the FBI has revealed that it was not an isolated incident. Theyve been investigating 10 other recent attacks on the internet infrastructure of California, and they seem to be deeply troubled by the vulnerability of these cables.
........................
The article goes on to compare these incidents to similar attacks that happened in Arizona last year, as well as California in 2009. However, they may be missing the bigger picture. This whole situation reminds me of an article I wrote just over a year ago about several attacks that were carried out against the power grid, which again, occurred in California and Arizona (weird right?). This included the very unsettling attack against a power station in San Jose, which wasnt revealed until 10 months after the fact, and to date, there has been no explanation for the incident.
Rather than a bomb, the San Jose attack turned out to be a frighteningly coordinated shooting. Its estimated that 6 individuals approached the facility late at night armed with AK-47s, and opened fire, but not before sneaking onto the property and disabling the alarm system. The attackers managed to disrupt a total of 10 transformers, and escaped just before police arrived. Investigators would later find more evidence of just how professional the attack was:
After walking the site with PG&E officials and FBI agents, Mr. Wellinghoff said, the military experts told him it looked like a professional job. In addition to fingerprint-free shell casings, they pointed out small piles of rocks, which they said could have been left by an advance scout to tell the attackers where to get the best shots.
The most chilling passage:
It should be abundantly clear now that some organization out there is quietly coordinating small-scale attacks against Americas power grid and internet lines. In my previous article, I suggested that theyre probing our infrastructure for weaknesses, and gauging reaction times and security. I still think that may be the case.
Its possible that these attacks are all unrelated, but it sure doesnt look like it to me. I wont suggest who may be doing it since its impossible to know for sure, but it definitely looks like there is an organized effort of some kind to disable the electricity and communications of Arizona and California. We probably wont know who it is until they get around to a full-scale attack, which given the vulnerability of Americas power grid, may be absolutely devastating.
Muslims and chinese. Muslims alone don’t have the brains.
I have no doubt whatsoever that the grid is going to go down in part or en toto at some point. That’s why we are going to install an off grid plug and play solar system in the mountain house. Without electricity half the population of this country will die in 6 mos. Maybe that’s the plan.
Depending on the time of the year it could be a lot less then 6 months.
Earth first OWS dirtheads who hate high-tech gentrification, maybe...?
That is exactly what they intend to happen. They do not have the intelligence to understand it, but 95% of those who die will be Obama worshipers. The ones who helped put him in the White House.
Who?
In a related statement, FBI spokesman Willard Dillard said, "but should remember that our own FBI offices, facilities and sites are protected by armed guards 24/7/365 so there's that good news!"
In case of isolated trouble the FBI is only days away.
If that, but they usually show up at the press conference after the massacre or incident and say “we were ‘tracking’ the suspected alleged perpetrators for a year but our dog ate the homework....”
The Chi-coms will own us in my lifetime. When they arrive, the battlefield will be during a civilian catastrophe of unparalleled proportions. They’ve telegraphed thier intentions for decades and our ruling political class is in the game. All the hacking, probing, infrastructure attacks are prepping the theater.
The FBI should have caught these guys already. Either they aren’t interested or motivated or they are like the Keystone cops and don’t have a clue. As a retired at&t manager, I’d be willing to bet I could put together a team and find these guys in.....90 days. (maybe or at least pinpoint that next targets.) There are just so many remote locations where there are concentrated fiber cables with manhole access that can be accessed and not seen.
Repair time is also a factor as transformers and switchgear are built to order and big stockpiles don’t exist.
So true. My best friend always laughs because whenever she is ranting about the low info voter or the unwanted immigrants I always say “don’t worry about it they will be in the first die off”. The people you wish would disappear will because they are the ones who don’t keep an extra can of chili in the pantry much less a years worth of food in the garage. Or a water filter or medicine etc.
The people living in an apt building have about a 6 week life expectancy in a grid down situation. If that.
It could be that the FBI is now 99% PR, for your safety.
It could be that the FBI is now 99% PR, for your safety.
What survivors always say to each other is “let’s do nothing and wait for government to come help us.” isn’t it?
“This included the very unsettling attack against a power station in San Jose, which wasnt revealed until 10 months after the fact, and to date, there has been no explanation for the incident.”
This substation now has tall concrete walls with cameras and motion sensors mounted every hundred feet or so.
When you consider that it takes a while to starve to death, you are about right. However, the yuppies might not take that long because they are politically correct and it will be beneath their dignity to kill and eat animals and drink water that is not bottled.
“The article goes on to compare these incidents to similar attacks that happened in Arizona last year, as well as California in 2009.”
And in Nevada last month.
“Copper thieves” cut Charter’s fiber optic cables in the Reno/Sparks area on two separate occasions.
(Not much copper in an optical fiber...)
