Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)80% released a statement Friday night attacking rival Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for a statement made during his campaign announcement speech 16 days ago.
Rubios statement reads:
Trumps comments are not just offensive and inaccurate, but also divisive. Our next president needs to be someone who brings Americans together not someone who continues to divide. Our broken immigration system is something that needs to be solved, and comments like this move us further from not closer to a solution. We need leaders who offer serious solutions to secure our border and fix our broken immigration system.
The portion of Trumps speech that has generated outrage amongst pro-amnesty liberal activists called out Mexico for the high number of illegal immigrants crossing the U.S. southern border who go on to commit violent crimes against U.S. citizens.
When Mexico sends its people, theyre not sending their best, he said. Theyre sending people that have lots of problems
theyre bringing drugs, theyre bringing crime. Theyre rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

Rubio, talked the talk, but did nothing when it came time to walk the talk.
GOPe ‘winning strategy’ - imitate liberals, as of course, liberals are the only ones who win elections. Just not so much that you lose the people who will vote for (r) no matter what.
Sounds like a pretty delicate balancing act, until you consider that Romney during the Republican presidential debates advocated for government mandates and said they worked, and, well, John McCain.
So yes, there’s quite a few who will vote for (r) no matter what the cost in values, beliefs and honor.
Rubio’s just following in the footsteps of the ‘great men’ who got the last two nominations. Attack those who are running against you, give just about nothing up as to concrete policy, try not to offend too many liberals - heck, throw them some bones as well. What are conservatives going to do? If they don’t vote for you, it’s just like they are casting a ballot for the (d) in the race...
Anyway, long way to go, but in the end: Rubio, gather up your pandering ways and do a cranial-anal inversion with them. Here’s a hint: ‘Latino advocates’ aren’t going to vote for you anyway, they vote for (d). The ones you’re pandering to can’t legally vote (not that doing something illegal stops them in the slightest,) and when they do vote, it is for a (d) and the victims of both groups, the ‘Latin American’ voter are left shaking their heads and tending to the damage done to their communities by these illegals.
Well Stated!
So I would put you down as a non-participant in University of Kent (UK) “Balloon Debates” then huh?
Asked if he thought he was eligible to be president, Rubio demurred. "I'm not going to answer that because I'm not thinking about it. All I care about is my qualifications to serve in the Senate."
But, that said, it's interesting that the only GOP candidate who seems to know how to handle him is the junior senator from Texas.

Still, I think that if had omitted the word "rapists" from his comment, many of us would agree with the rest of his statement about how Mexico---obviously unofficially--- allows its criminals and drug people to sneak into the United States without doing anything to stop them.
And to think that the ‘conservative’ talking heads like Krauthammer were touting him as a front-runner. What a joke.
A 51 minute interview with Katie Couric? Really?
I’m happy the Donald is stirring things up and make no apologies for that.
Cruz is playing it smart so far, which is good.
My guess is, we’re gonna have a financial event of some magnitude before we get there.
Guess we’ll find out.
Yep. Really. Worth watching in full.
Twenty-six minutes in, she surfaces the drooling birfer question, and "crack" Ted hits it out of the park.
Can’t disagree with ya there. I once interviewed with a guy in the mid-1990’s. It was just strange. Had 3 former coworkers working there, too. I told one of them about it. He could not believe it.
I never forgot that guy, nor his name. I doubt I’d give him a $1 if I saw him begging on the street, for he was an unnecessary jerk. Especially at the end.
I wound up in a better job and one after that, anyways. That was 20 years ago.
Out of the park? He whiffed it. Ask Cruz about Natural Law and see what he has to say. See if he even understands the difference between ‘positive law’ and ‘natural law’.
Adior Rubio. You had your chance. Now you’re just another moron pandering to the illegal vote you think will go to a republican. I will let you in on a little secret. ILLEGALS WILL NEVER EVER EVER VOTE FOR YOU OR ANY REPUBLICAN!!! The one single illegal that got busted for a republican vote was deported six months ago. You’re through. You’re cooked. You will never be president. You are a stupid man if you ever thought you would get the illegal vote. And by pandering to the illegal vote you just lost the entire US citizen conservative vote.
I suspect Senator Cruz has a firm grasp of natural law. As for positive law, that would be the realm of Barack Obama, John Roberts, and the drooling birfers.
Looks like he’s campaigning to be Jeb’s butt boy.
Voted for Marco for senate. Thought he was the future.
Now I wouldn’t vote for Marco for dog catcher. He can’t be trusted.
Senior Marco just “jumped the shark”
