YOUGOV Poll: Most approve of last week's Supreme Court decisions
YOUGOV ^ | 07/03/2015

Most Americans back the Supreme Court's decisions to legalize same sex marriage and to protect federal exchange subsidies

Americans approve of the two major decisions made by the Supreme Court last week, but they continue to view the two issues differently: there is majority support for a national right to same-sex marriage, but Americans in the latest Economist/YouGov Poll are still not convinced that the Affordable Care Act is working or is the right thing for the country.

Americans support the Court’s decision in King v. Burwell that those who purchased health insurance on the federal exchange could still receive federal subsidies, despite the wording in one section of the law that restricted those subsidies to insurance purchased on “State” exchanges. But just about four in ten continue to judge Obamacare as a failure, and only 28% call it a success. And while in the last year the percentage wanting to keep or expand the law has been generally larger than the percentage wanting to repeal it, there will continue to be attempts to overturn or de-fund the law.

Four in ten overall, and three-quarters of Republicans would support those efforts to de-fund the program. Nearly half think that the intense battles to eliminate the law have been worth it, even though the ACA so far has survived two appeals to the Supreme Court.

" Polls like this, however, make it clear that we are already living in a foreign land."

Or a nation of Wave Riders, people metaphorically bouncing off the ways of opinion like a SeaDoo but never looking into the cause and effect of their positions critically and unemotionally, using the thinking mind vs. the feeling.

They have no idea what a legal nightmare they have created for everyone. Obama talked about an Army as powerful as our armed forces? Well he got it now, a new entitlement class, and be perceived as denying anyone this new 14th amendment right and they will destroy you legally, financially, and or verbally by calling you an "-ist" of the day.

Read this, it is breath-taking what is coming....

The only polls that should count are the legitimate ones that happened in the states on election days.

one point .... Are elections ‘true’ with no lies? I know what I’ve seen and heard but who doubts those on the TV? The TV is the ‘truth’ ... right?

Voter fraud is apparently unimportant to the Supremes. But I think it should be an issue. Regardless, the only legal polls are the ones on election days. They are the MOST accurate — certainly more so than stupid Internet polling or liberal media polling.

may your thought be correct and may the vote be ‘true’ without the ‘lies’

Lots of education needs to happen.

A candidate or party that cannot or will not teach the people the dangers of our current social trajectory is not worth his or her salt.

Both decisions referenced in this article were disasters. Not just because of the policy results, but in a constitutional and legislative manner.

The poll results don’t prove anything except an “after the fact” reaction. People see “The Supreme Court says...” and will *generally* approve of the result because they are under the impression SCOTUS is made up of reasonable jurists.

The question may also be tinged with assumptions, without education on the law or the process of creating the same, or the issues involved.

Finally, this poll does not reflect any viewpoint beyond the current societal atmosphere; in other words, there is no “looking down the road” element.

This poll does nothing but encourage the statists and attempts to discourage the Constitutionalists.

Don’t let it. Teach those around you why and how the Supreme Court got it supremely wrong.

Consider this: if the Supreme Court had ruled against Hussein and the homosexuals, the only thing the media would be reporting on would be the dissents of the leftist jurists and the “woe is me” stories of the affected citizenry.

Don’t see any of that now, do you?

YOUGOV Poll: Most approve of last week’s Supreme Court decisions

That right there is the real problem. It’s not the court. It’s not obama. It’s the electorate.

It’s why I say I feel like a Jew in early 1930’s Germany.

Polls are often conducted in urban areas where residents are usually overwhelmingly liberal. For once I would like to see these pollsters slog through the cow pastures in rural America and ask the residents there what they think.

This is why I bought my small farm in central KY two weeks before the 2008 election and moved there (from Seattle) in 2011.

Oh, and I thought McCain was going to win.

You have to know when to fight and know when not to. This is a time to go Galt and let it run its course. Either we are living in the true end times or this is another “WW II” moment. Those of us that survive can be here to pick up the pieces, but it is pointless to fight it with anything other than words and civil disobedience.

We at YouGov, a member in good standing of the DRFPPO, Democrat Fraud Push Polling Organization have deemed it necessary to LIE through our teeth. We have to do this about the Supreme court Decisions, in order to accomplish this, we decided to have 13% more Democrats ‘sampled’ than evil Fascist Homophobe Racist Republicans, even though the 2012 election had only a +6 Democrat turnout. This is the only way we feel that we can accomplish our goal of minimizing the bad people that disagree with us.
