But...you have a point, one which I’ve noted before. Forced to take a position which contradicts their alleged “values”, many times Black Christians will ditch the principles and run with the rant.
After all, like you said...gotta be solid with the folks who be Down.
I’d like to say we’re seeing less of that but it’s probably just wishful thinking. The few who do have principles are given a pulpit by the Right, but they are in fact a tiny minority, promptly derided as Uncle Toms as soon as they take a real stand.
But homosexuality is a big one. Black culture is atavistic and centralizes the Big Man. All of Africa is that way. It’s the one advantage they have: perceived masculinity. Slavery was the ultimate emasculation: a real Man wouldn’t let himself be degraded like that.
That’s all I have for the moment. You have an important point, and it goes to the real question: can they ever be expected to be normalized and assimilated to the American culture? Not if they reflexively side with every apostasy because it IS an apostasy.

I worked with Takei a couple of times in my Horrywood days and despite his being a flamer, always found him very well mannered and agreeable.
