Twitter only has 49 black employees - out of 2,910 staff members in America.
The 35 men and 14 women account for just 1.7 per cent of the firm's US operation, which is 93.8 per cent white or Asian.
It represents a stark lack of progress since last year, when senior executives promised to boost their number of African American staff from 2 per cent.

I work with VERY competent black people but I work for a very large and well known company who can go out and find them and if necessary import them.
Yup. The hard sciences (assuming these are mostly IT type jobs at twitter) have few blacks as a percentage, higher percentage of Asians, I would guess
Thank the liberal establishment for its magnificently successful program to maintain a substantial segment of the black population locked in poverty ghettos with no effective educational or economic opportunity. It is only in the most liberal cities that blacks suffer these human indignities.
Sorry, that doesn't matter, if this was an "evil" Koch brothers company the left would be going bonkers...
Al Sharpton would be hustling down to Corp headquarters to demand they fix their "racism" by a nice "contribution" to his organization..
Twitter ? crickets...
That’s some damn fine cookie talent there!
Im willing to wager my employer has the same small percentage ...

I’ve been in IT for the better part of 25 years.
My observation (and this has been steadily changing) is that IT has been one of the few meritocracies left. Nobody cares about your gender or color, as long as you demonstrate competency. Of course it varies by industry, company size, and the other usual metrics, but I’ve always found it somewhat refreshing in IT that you’re largely judged by your abilities.
There aren’t a lot of women in IT either (although that also seems to be changing some) but I’ve had the good fortune to work with some great ones along with a few minorities who have stood out in the field.
Interestingly, a good number of the Indians I’ve worked with have either been on the low end of the competency scale, or have been so difficult to work with that they nullified their abilities.
But, as always, YMMV...
All of the buildings in her hood were already decorated....
LMAO!
“Maybe they should finish school instead of spending their time selling drugs and guns on the street.”
But another problem is that being at the top of your class means nothing if you attended a crappy government school with worthless/hog-tied teachers, which, unfortunately, many do. I have seen those people get their dreams smashed in college, and you can’t make up for thirteen wasted years in one semester’s worth of remedial classes and tutoring. There was the slogan “a mind is a terrible thing to waste”. Happens day in, day out in public schools.
Implicit in your statement is that young black men can be trained..... and come to work..... and not do drugs....and not be presently incarcerated.

There is a dark side to this. If you are very good at something, that is where you will stay. If you are incompetent, you will move on to management.
H1B mostly imports Indians and they aren’t “black enough” so they are generally referred to as “Asian”.
Where’s the diversity in race hustlers?
However, the first part of your statement is true.
What I mean is that companies use H1B to “diversify” the staff, not that H1B was created to get blacks employment. If you think about it H1B is a pretty cynical way to create the illusion of diversity in employment.
They generally suppress wages and decrease profits. Since they’ll take less qualified people at the lower wage.
In my experience, HR is definitely where they bury the affirmative action hires.
What's the rumpus? I'm just not hearing the "outrage" from "whites" concerning the racial disparity in pro sports
