Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has voiced a desire to transform the demographics of Facebook's employee base to better echo the company's billion-plus international users. However, Facebook's most recent diversity report revealed that white men continue to have a claim on positions at Facebook.
The online social networking service claims that diversity is central to the company's mission, observing "genders, races, ages, sexual orientations, characteristics and points of view." Additionally, they've insisted that a diverse workforce "is not only the right thing to do - it's the smart thing to do for our business." With that said, numbers show that Facebook has not been action-oriented with diversifying its staff.

This is a really a simple problem to solve: simply quit utilizing employment criteria such as education, knowledge, ability, personality, and experience and instead just make random picks from the unemployment line. It’s a great way to achieve “diversity”.
Facebook is 55% white (not counting white-hispanic).
Maybe Zuckerberg should start hiring all those illegals he supports coming here.
If I worked there I'd be concerned they were going to push hiring based on racial discrimination (in both the textbook and common meaning) or some other demographic.
That would mean I'd end up (potentially) having to deal with less capable coworkers. If I were a stock holder I'd be similarly concerned that the company values arbitrary numbers in a spreadsheet over actual performance and capability.

You bet it is. If the "diversity" hires screw up the platform and the culture of the development staff, the old timers will find better digs. It won't be long before the "corporate memory" needed to keep the platform stable and responsive to market opportunities gets lost in the stampede for the door.
