If it had not been for the bravery of her fiancé, Saera Wilson may have been one of the more than 70 victims of an attack on a hotel in Tunisia.
As the Daily Mail reports, 37 people were killed and 36 wounded when extremists attacked a resort area in Sousse, opening fire at a beach near the Bellevue Hotel.
Wilson was on vacation with her fiancé, Matthew James, and the two were sunbathing when the shooting began.
Wilson says that James put his body between her and the gunmen, shielding her from harm while taking three bullets in the stomach. Even while injured and bleeding, James told Wilson to run for it.
He told me: I love you babe. But just go tell our children that their daddy loves them, Wilson said.
Wilson and James have two children, six-year-old, Tegan, and 14-month-old, Kaden, whom they had left with family in Wales during their break in Tunisia.

YOU are an idiot. Yes.....MARRYING the MOTHER of your TWO CHILDREN is WAY more important!! OMG...what has happened to Freerepublic??? We USED to have MORAL THINKERS here, and now its full of SHALLOWNESS!!
Lovely debating style you have. You might try a different tack, not that your approach doesn’t have its merits, but calling complete strangers “an idiot” does not win many arguments.
Or, maybe you should try more caps. Or more cowbells!
Thanks....you proved my point.
I suppose we can’t know what God wants regarding marriage.Oh, actually we can - it’s in the Bible
Annie...I don’t think you read my whole post.
I’m agreeing with you. And there ain’t many of them here what are! lol....
I did? Why, thank you!
Even Christ didn’t harass, nor yell, nor force unbelievers into accepting His Way. He simply told them that their sins and guilt were their own then LEFT THEM ALONE. Even when 2 of his disciples wanted to bring fire down on some particular unbelievers, He said no, let them be. I will not judge this couple’s situation because I don’t know them or their circumstances.....and neither do you.
That was never said.....you ‘re misquoting
Their being married or not has nothing to do with the shooting, or his brave and loving behavior during same.”
Your point is taken and is a good rhetorical debating point but what I objected to is some folks trying to portray him as some sort low life degenerate for not being married yet.
I seem to remember a hard drinking, general no account hell raiser who didn't give damn what he did until his friend was killed in a bar fight. A general all around no good who converted to God at that point. No he wasn't struck by lightning. His name was Alvin York. Hopefully the fellow who took 3 in the gut will see the hand of God in his survival and do the right thing. At least he was given a second chance.
WOW!!
at least I paid for my microphone.
Marriage is dead to me now. Especially after last week. I tell my sons not to get married. They are only setting themselves up for servitude and financial hardship now. Many women marry men only to cash out and they have the courts supporting them.
I was lucky. I got married to a woman who is not looking to take me to the cleaners and who does not care if I don't want to paint the kitchen pink with her on the weekend and instead want to hike in the woods with the dog, chop firewood and watch a football game instead.
This guy here, he threw his body on top of his woman and saved her from gunshot. And you criticize him for not getting a piece of paper saying "I'm married to her and I shall give her every penny I own if she decides to divorce me?"
This guy is honorable and I support him.
My mother went to Morocco. And “expensive” is relative. My husband and I sometimes get a weekend to ourselves (two in over 20 years), in-state.
Again I emphasize (post 68) that I agree with you.
I have always admired you and have been proud of our exchanges in the past. I would regret having you think otherwise.
Fregards!
You live in the USA. It is far cheaper to fly from the UK to Tunisia than it is from the USA. My point is that it is an affordable vacation spot for UK residents.
It’s the same in the U.S. They lose money if they marry. And Britain is ahead of the U.S. in terms of the no-marriage culture. If these people are in their late 20s to 30-ish, odds are their parents weren’t married, and it’s never occurred to them that they should be, except as a fun social event.
Like us going to Florida?
I am a sick puppy??? You call on the Lrd (you said OMG which you should not use in vain) because I told an anecdote about my last time in Tunisia? Are you on some sort of drug?
Is that phallic camel married or not?!
“...would seem to me it would have been better had they married first before having children”
This is really not the point of the story, it really isn’t.
