If you attended church, synagouge, temple, mosque etc. did your pastor say anything about recent USSC rulings?
I would love to watch that sermon as well!! Trying to get saturated with the Word, prayer and good preaching! Whoever’s church that, please send me the link and thank you!

That’s me on bass.
There are about 20 minutes of music before the sermon starts
I think I see your problem here.
I always thought that church in Berlin was rather conservative. You must be somewhere near the coast. You’re not alone in this.
It’s distressing in CT, pathetic attitude in the churches.
And when politics treads all over theological issues what should your Church do? ...stay silent? If it does I’d consider it to be pandering to a politically correct audience, which isn’t what it should be doing.
Would you mind posting a link to it? I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see/hear it now!
I am also an Episcopalian. I maintain my membership and regular attendance not because I support the present day trajectory of the church, rather because of family attachments and my local parish has generally held steady (the rector would not likely marry a gay couple). His message yesterday centered on the role of the church in reconciliation etc. Not what I would have liked to have heard, but sincere (and very Episcopalian), nevertheless.
We didn't get here by accident. The nation is reaping what it has sowed I'm sorry to say.
When my wife and I stood weeping at the grave of Ronald Reagan a few years ago, it was for missing the leadership of a great man, but also the demise of his Shining City on a Hill...
I left my congregation when they started their sexuality 'Journey Together' in the mid-2000's, and totally ignored the Holy Bible's words and teachings, to favor queer marriage and queer pastors.
They topped it off with employee health insurance covering abortion on demand up to 20 weeks.
Any World Council of Churches member church is apostate. Flee it.
The link is in comment #122.
After listening to some of the other links on this thread, I realize that it was not nearly as scorching as some of the others, but still good! LOL!
Pastor said nothing. I left disgusted.
I suggest you find another Church.
Your Pastor should of rebuked the woman's praise per John 7:24, Matthew 7:5 (I assume you Pastor's “eye” is clear), Luke 6:4345, 1 Cor. 5:11-13, Romans 16:17, James 4:17, etc...
Yes he did:
Phillipians 4:6
An excellent choice after such a disaster.
Our pastor preached on “God Listens”....and we need to pray and we need to remember that the church is “the bride of Christ”. We need to bring people back to church and bring others who don’t have a church home to church. We need to study our Bible daily. Before his sermon he said that he will give an in depth message at Bible Study last night from 5-7 pm which will deal with the SCOTUS decisions and finish II Timothy 4. So, we began with SCOTUS decisions....back to the taking of prayer from schools, abortion, removing Ten Commandments, Obamacare and Homosexual marriage—all decisions that affect Christianity. It was amazing!! Then he showed us the flag from the first Navy ships. It was a white flag with a large evergreen tree and above it said, “APPEAL TO HEAVEN”...see Genesis 21:33.
We are too comfortable and need to support good men and women Christians once again in ALL levels of government. Shut off the TV and game boxes, talk to your family, read the Bible, be active in local politics and national where you can, take charge as We The People are the kings, NOT the POTUS and SCOTUS! So....we got a different doseage of hope and change, LOL!!! And, my hubby and I came home with a peace that passes our understanding and know we must become more active in politics.
My good news...I did vote for Ted Cruz. I do support him financially and in prayer to give him strength to become our next President. I have met him, follow him, love his dad and think he will correct our mast!!
Thanks for a GREAT column!!
Nothing on the topic.
I wish I went to your church. My local church, LCMS, didn’t mention anything on the subject. Perhaps they will next week.
Am traveling and attended an ELCA church with my hosts. The “pastor” there celebrated the “loving treatment” of all, even though he gave lip service to those whose beliefs were assaulted by the ruling ( he made it pretty clear that his beliefs were not the least bit bothered). In fact to anyone listening carefully, as I was since I was expecting it, he equated the withholding of full endorsement of sodomite proclivities with the mass murder of unarmed black people in Charleston.
Blessings upon you and your congregation.
At my church, we’re between pastors, so the sermon yesterday was delivered by the district superintendent. After some remarks about how we should be welcoming, she launched into a political rant praising the Supreme Court ruling—essentially spiking the football, as liberals and leftists are doing around the country. I didn’t hear a whole lot of what she had to say, because I immediately got up and walked out.
