I am convinced that we have an opportunity to find many new allies in our fight due to this "in your face" SCOTUS gay "marriage" decree. People who previously were dubious about the threat of an activist court and those who thought conservatives exaggerated the leftist threat.

A. There is a new justice to be appointed soon. Inevitable. That is soon enough.

B. The efforts to curb the Court will succeed. Some day!

“Republican president and a Republican Congress”

You really sure about the word “Republican” there, Gary?

Right. The Bushs’ did a great job nominating Ginsburg and Kennedy.

Souter, Kennedy, and Roberts. All nominated by Republicans, Bushes in particular.

Bauer is part of the problem. He promotes Republicans no matter whether they are conservative or not.

Reagan’s pick betrayed us.... as did justices from other Republican POTUS’

The Republicans hold the Senate and House and won’t use them.

What an optimist. Reminds me of the battered woman who is planning to change the man who beats her.

Elections have consequences

No, they don't. We got this very bad Supreme Court with a majority of Republican appointees. Republicans got majorities beyond their wildest expectations, with voters expecting them to stop Obama's agenda. What did they do with those majorities? Support Obama on Obamatrade, when even his own party wouldn't.

We're worse off than we were before the Republicans had control of the US Senate. And a lot of very bad things got started when GWB had majorities in the HOR and US Senate.

The reason the US is now in this very steep decline is that elections no longer have consequences.

And we can also CHANGE THE COURT!

The men and women we elect to the White House and the Senate nominate and confirm the judges who serve on our courts, including the Supreme Court.

Four justices of the Supreme Court are 76 years-old or older.

The odds are overwhelming that the next president we elect will fundamentally change the ideological balance of the Supreme Court.

This issue alone would be worth every effort you can possibly make and every dime you could possibly invest between now and next November to ensure that we take back the White House and hold the Senate!

That is SUCH comforting news

And we can also CHANGE THE COURT!...The efforts to curb the Court will succeed. Some day!

People are making this much too complicated, and are trying to pressure two of the least responsive branches of the government (Judicial and Executive), when the whole problem is completely and entirely under the control of Congress to begin with.

The Supreme Court can only hear cases on appeal from State courts, or from inferior Article III courts, to the extent that Congress permits.

Article III §2: "...the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make".

It’s a nice thought, but it borders on a pipe dream.

Hillary is likely to be the next president. Beyond that, unending mass legal immigration (not to mention amnesty for illegals) is changing the demography ever more in favor of the left, and making a conservative victory in the electoral college less and less likely.

Also, the GOP is likely to lose the Senate in 2016. At a minimum they’ll lose 2 or 3 seats, leaving them unable to invoke the nuclear option and break a Dem filibuster if a Republican wins the Presidency and nominates a conservative judge. If the Dems retake the Senate in that scenario, they will vote in lockstep to defeat a conservative nomination. The left plays for keeps. They don’t have people like Lindsay Graham who votes for Sotomayir and Kagan, knowing full well that they’ll vote for irreversible decisions that are counter to things Graham claims to believe in.

This Sup Court is the best we are ever likely to have again, and that is a depressing thought.

Bauer probably means well, but he is a rosy optimist like his old boss Reagan. There is no room for optimism.

This is inside the beltway talk pure and simple. Talk designed to solicit contributions for the next election cycle.

The political system of electing representatives of the people has failed.

Any efforts to reverse or alleviate the pain caused by USSC decisions will be either shot down in the legislative process by corporate elite pressure, vetoed by executive branches under corporate elite pressure or if signed into law by executive branches, the judicial branches will kill the laws.

THE ALTERNATIVE IS RESISTANCE......’WE SHALL OVERCOME’ ANYONE........

To quote another’s words : “...Dead to me”. Of course the other does lie a great deal so this might be changed and amended at any given time. The pubbies have become rusty, untrustworthy, and ashes in the wind. Being rusty, old, and useless they belong in the Junk Heap, scrap yard of the city dump.

Before voting the candidate now must show spine, determination and true Conservative principles before this vote might be cast for them. Notice to any Conservative pubbies...in order to win, you must lose the baggage and strike your on path to victory.

States can dig in and tell the Feds and SCOTUS that they will make use of their 10th Amendment rights no matter what some kangaroo court cats paw of Leftist tool decides. It’s the only real option left.
