In recognition of the the Supreme Court decision to legalize same-sex marriage in the country and New York City Pride Week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said today he has directed that the lights on One World Trade Centers 408-foot spire to shine in a rainbow on Sunday night.
In one of his top accomplishments as governor, Cuomo pressed the state Legislature in 2011 to legalize same-sex marriage, making New York the largest state in the nation to do so and leading other states to follow suit.
Cuomos statement:
New York has been a leader in the fight for marriage equality, and todays Supreme Court decision affirms what we have fought so hard for that marriage is a fundamental right that should be afforded to everyone, regardless of whom they love.
When we passed the Marriage Equality Act in 2011, New York sent a message to the nation that it was time to end one of societys greatest inequities, and I am thrilled to see the Court join us on the right side of history. Dividing people into first and second-class citizens is not only wrong, it runs contrary to who we are as a nation.
From Stonewall to Edie Windsor, New Yorkers have always been on the front lines of the fight to ensure equality and fairness for all. Today, we are proud New Yorkers and proud Americans. Today, progress marches on.
Lord have mercy—
Another leftist using his high office to flip the bird to God.
Isn’t diversity wonderful? </barf>
Great. Use a memorial building to prop up your screwed up agenda.
Oh, how I hate people.
Devil Prez

The governor controls the lights on office buildings?
That's obviously a necessary function of government. /s
The Rainbow used to be a beautiful symbol, now the homos have destroyed it. I can’t even look at a rainbow and have the same feeling I once had
And yet, we can’t draw mohammed cartoons out of deference to muzzie sensitivities....
in Iran, They’d be tossing gays to their deaths off such a tower. We’ve come a long way.. I guess.
,
Well isn’t that special?
Celebrate Perversity! Embrace the Suck!
The Bible is clear that homosexuality is forbidden.
America is dying and no one is doing anything to stop it.
The governor controls the lights on office buildings? This building is government owned.
And Why a rainbow? Peoples are diverse but homosexuals are just a twisted offshoot. A confused mish-mash of hormones. Guess perverted body parts would not make a flag theme
Can I just take issue with the term: “marriage equality”.
This is not “marriage equality”. We still don’t have marriage equality, because we still don’t allow for polygamy and group marriage.
The ultimate goal of homosexual activists is group marriage, any number of partners, any gender of partners.
They see monogamous same sex marriage as a transitional phase leading to their final goals.
The liberal view has been to laugh and ridicule a la Saul Alinsky, anyone who suggested that polygamy or other redefinitions of marriage could come about if we allow homosexual marriage.
Time will tell on that.
Time will also tell if religious liberty will be under assault now due to this ruling.
It’s up to the gay activists. If they don’t file lawsuits against churches and religious institutions over marriage, then we would have nothing to worry about.
But if they choose to file such lawsuits, then we are all in danger of losing our religious liberties.
Time will tell. It’s up to them as to whether they choose to file more and more lawsuits to force acceptance of homosexual marriage by religions.
Why not? The building stands as an open surrender to islam (one instead of two and built with their input). Might as well promote the latest surrender.
It’s gone from tolerance to homo-worship. Praise depravity or suffer the wrath of the one false god.
