NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt, Jr. opened up in a recent interview, discussing his strong opinions about the Confederate flag.
When topic was raised by reporters at the Sonoma Raceway on Friday, the 40-year-old stock car driver did not bite his tongue when supporting the need to remove it.
I think its offensive to an entire race. It does nothing for anybody to be there flying, so I dont see any reason.
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. further identified the one place where he feels the Confederate flag belongs and should remain.
It belongs in the history books and thats about it.
USA Today reports that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. agreed with NASCAR in regards to removing the Confederate flag from the grounds of the state capitol of South Carolina.
His Daddy would smack the stuff out of him. Supported Dale Jr. for alot of years, just quit it.
Looks like everybody is on the bandwagon to disassociate themselves from the Confederate flag. Even NASCAR.
Dale Sr. shared his views on the Confederate flag.
If its so bad, why havent you been speaking up earlier?
Great point.
Being from that part of the country, it’s because it’s not something we think about all the time. I didn’t even know they had taken it off the SC state capitol.
The flag has been commandeered by hate groups over the last 50 years, so as much as it was about our heritage, a lot of us just ignored the issue, and went on with life. It takes some Yankee liberal media to get the whole thing stirred up again so they can paint all southerners as racist.
Maybe not, but he is NASCAR for the media. For a while it was Gordon, but now it’s Dale Jr.. You know as well as I they were never going to let up on him, and in their eyes silence is consent.
I never liked him after he said he would crash into an opponent if it would mean his dad would win. He’s still a twerp.
“When your name is worth 3-400 million, and you have fans of all races, why do something that damages that name to mainstream America.”
Hopefully one day he’ll have enough money and he can honestly tell us about his real values. By that I mean, if he has any real values.
You know I should go back and read the autobiography. As many times as I talked to Sr. he didn’t talk about his past a lot. I got the impression he and his dad had a rough relationship. In comparison you talk to Sterling Marlin, and he always had a funny story about CooCoo.
Should have kept your mouth shut, stupid.
Hopefully one day hell have enough money and he can honestly tell us about his real values. By that I mean, if he has any real values.
Is that fair? How many Hollywood stars keep their conservative beliefs either hidden, or close to the vest because they if found out, their career is over.
This isn’t that serious. As I said in another post it’s not something we deal with so much, and we’ve seen the meaning of the flag corrupted a lot more than the rest of the country.
I’m angry because someone else is lying about the flag, and telling me I can’t have one. Doesn’t mean I’m gonna fly it, or slap a bunch bumper stickers on my car.
In his circumstance, and being 10 years younger than me, I understand why he said it.
This won’t hurt him or NASCAR. Times have changed way too much. The country music stars will all be coming out for gay marriage and banning the flag over the next few days. It’s all over.
PWD
LOL
Hard to disagree with that.
Must have a him a new Rap MoFo sponsor. Sag-pants NASCAR?
Good call:
Charlie Daniels jumped into the fray today.
To paraphrase, He said it’s heritage not hate, now shut up and go back to Yankeeland.
Some say he wears his underwear backwards, for easier access...
How does the joke go?
"I like the way you think..."
Nascar face book page is crucifying brian france.Gee what did they think people were going to say?
NASCAR became too corporate. Promoting diversity, changing rules, rich kids getting rides. It was on a downward slide and folks like Jr, and Lil France are killing it off.
ba-ZINGA!
THAT'S gonna leave a mark...
