The rougly 500 same-sex couples who married in June will have their partnerships recognized by the state of Wisconsin and couples will be able to amend past tax returns, Gov. Scott Walker's administration ordered Monday.

It’s out of his hands. He cannot do anything else............
Personally I’d like to see a “ Now let them enforce it” answer but those were permanently eliminated by the 16th and 17th amendments.
Rick Snyder is also saying we will accept it here in Michigan.
10th Amendment doesn’t apply?
Exactly so.
Nope.
An immoral law does not bind. It is absolutely null and void from the outset, I don't give a rat's rear what justification or precedent you want to attach to it.
This acquiescence, right here, will be the death of the Republican party.
And good riddance, in my opinion.
The self-described "conservatives" we have today defend the Constitution and traditional American values only when it's convenient to do so -- that is, when it doesn't take too much time from their primary goal of amassing power.
No....that’s a little harsh IMO. This is couple hours old.
So I’m willing to wait and see how Walker plays this out over the long run. He’s earned that in the past six years.
Smart to get beyond this and onto more important issues
Scott says there should be an constitutional amendment.
He is only about 3 weeks late...
“Protect Marriage from Courts Act” — June 8, 2015

President Andrew Jackson:
“John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!”
What ever happened to 'civil disobedience'? Why is it that 9 people have such power? I don't think the founders had this in mind way back when.
This is only the beginning.
“This point was illustrated by an appalling yet predictable admission from Solicitor General Donald Verrilli in response to a line of questioning by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Sam Alito during oral arguments in April. Roberts asked Verrilli if a religious school that has on-campus housing for married couples would be required to afford such housing to same-sex couples, given that the pro-gay marriage side wants the Court to invent a fundamental constitutional right. Verrilli refused to give a straight answer. Then when Alito followed up and asked him if private schools that oppose gay marriage would lose their tax-exempt status, he admitted, its certainly going to be an issue. I dont deny that.
Cop out
IN support of Cruz, who is my first choice, you have made the same mistake made by a lot of Walker supporters (he is my second choice) - in not understanding that as a Senator and a governor, these two men have different responsibilities and different avenues of attack available to them.
When you give the government power over something they take total control of it.
Government got control of marriage totally when government was allowed to perform marriages and give out financial goodies based on marriage status.
Got that right.
