The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Thursday credited the civil rights movement for breaking down barriers and bringing the South into the modern world. Thanks to the efforts of activists, the South renewed itself and became attractive to investors and others.
And now, in the wake of last week’s mass shooting at Emanuel AME Church, Jackson sees an opportunity to address the systemic problems that have persisted since the 1960s.

My g-g-grandparents didn’t receive on dime for the property and homes that Federal troops burned and took. One of my G-G-Grandfathers was a Union soldier.
I am also in favor of reparations, I believe that the democrat party should pay reparations to black people for their long and sordid history of slavery and racism.
