Thank you for your examples of ways to resist. I do many of them myself, can't do others (due to logistics), and some of my own.
I am also looking for larger ways of resistance. Ways that perhaps involve assembly and associations. I hate social media, but maybe that is around the corner for me as well?
Perhaps there is a “Tiananmen Square” in our future?

I believe Scalia just wrote that we have lost justice, and in doing so have lost our country.
Playing with justice and legislation were the first of the usurpations that the Declaration of Independence mentioned in their list of terrible usurpations visited upon them by the British. The intensity of the usurpations increased, and in those the colonists found not just a reason to revolt, but a necessity. The British then began to take property and freedom and abuse power. Then they began to kill using intermediaries (the native amerians) or doing so themselves.
We are at level one. Some would argue the government is opening the 2nd door with its soft persecution of religion.
They aren't killing us yet, but let's not forget that ties forged in colonial times by the British with the native americans was a means of killing that provided 'plausible deniability' for the British.

I haven't had a "real" job in years. I try to keep my taxable profile as small as possible. The key, I think, is to have absolutely no debt. The house is paid for, the cars are paid for, and the kid's college and grad school are paid for.

Just my insurance alone is over $700 a month now, for a high deductible policy. Hard to be debt free, even without the other usual payments.

I cant speak with authority about the educational funds, as we have no children. But if I did, I would encourage them to invest in a trade that can pay well when jobs exist and help them get by when there are no jobs.
Worth a summer re-read. Be sure and have the 20 somethings read it. . May God help us all. . It's now up to them.
I'm in Texas so I have not been forced in to obamacare - nor will I ever be. If the mandate is ever forced on my employer - I will quit.
