ETL, the Soviet flag is still an official symbol of the Russian Federation. They fly it every May 7th to commemorate the end of WWII. It also serves as the unit flag of many regiments of the Russian Armed Forces, and as a component of a few Russian oblast’s flags. That is the equivalent of the Germans flying a Nazi flag once a year for a celebration.
