Republican Prosecuted for Withdrawing Cash from Bank
MoneyWise 411 ^ | June 22, 2015 | None

Can’t believe it… The timing here is just eerie, especially after what happened a few days ago…

America’s most respected newspaper, The New York Times, just published an article titled: “When It’s a Crime to Withdraw Money From Your Bank.”

The NYT article details how Federal lawyers (from Obama’s Federal Bureau of Investigation), are prosecuting a former Republican representative for withdrawing his own money from his own bank account.

DEVELOPING: Senator: “go to the ATM machine… draw out everything it will let you take”

The Republican politician, former Speaker of the House under President George H. Bush, now faces a criminal sentence… For withdrawals of up to $8,000. From his own bank account.

This comes just days after the release of a video exposing the possible government cover up of a severe cash shortage about to hit ordinary Americans… One that could see ATMs across the country shutting down.

It’s better to just not put the money in a bank to begin with. Cash your checks and put the cash away for when you need it.

Yes, but then you don't make that generous interest the banks offer on depos...

Oh.

Never mind.

Checks? Many employers offer Direct Deposit. At my work, they refuse giving paper checks and everyone had to accept Direct Deposit.

Only a matter of time before the government makes cash illegal and forces us to use debit cards from the US Treasury.

True that. Sooner than we all want to believe.

It’s whatever they decide on that day. You never get to know in advance.

It is all in the name of fighting the War on Drugs.

The only bright side to this, is that the accused probably voted for the law he's being nailed with

And certainly not a word about how he came into all that cash. Hmmmmmmm.....

What makes the amount of cash seem so outre' that one should wonder where it came from?

I thought it was $10K.

But if you make multiple withdrawals within a short period that total more than $10K (to avoid hitting that $10K threshold), that's "structuring", and that's what they nailed him for.

It’s not just withdrawals; it’s transactions, period. You may be hiding your ill-gotten gains by depsiting that egg-money piecemeal. Everyone is a criminal—the only real question left is, “is your arrest convenient for the government?”

Quoth Ayn Rand:

“The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.”

I have officially stopped trying to distinguish between the news, dystopian fiction, and apocalyptic prophesy.

Unfortunately many utterly innocent people have been nailed the same way.

Only a matter of time before the government makes cash illegal...

I don't disagree that it may happen and sooner then most expect. My problem is a lot of my monthly outlay of cash is on autopilot. Things like the cable bill, electric and natural gas, premiums on my health care supplements, and others are all funded by vendor direct withdrawal from a bank account. If bank transfers are blocked, paying your bills is going to get a lot more complicated.

I foresee problems with using credit cards too. If you have to use a Fed supplied debit card for all transactions, who decides when you've hit your limit? I don't think I'm going to like what coming.

Is the Fed Treasury going to confiscate your savings and checking accounts, IRAs, 401Ks, 403Bs, Annuities, Trust accounts, and precious metals you've salted away under the porch, how about real estate holding you've accumulated?

Social Justice, everyone is now equal! Except that my wife and I worked for 40 years to save what we could for our retirement, knowing that Social Security was a Ponzi scheme and would eventually crash.

The "takers" are winning and the "makers" wound up SO Screwed.

We are too old to put up much of a fight, best we can hope for is no hard winters...

G

PS The way things are going we'll probably loose the power grid and have to make due with oil lamps...

PPS We'll probably all wind up in FEMA internment camps, shades of the Holocaust!

Well on the bright side, maybe the Heavenly Host will show up early and we'll all have good seats to watch the scourging of the earth. All the progressives have left us is faith, that will be enough!

God Bless Us All!

This is again a situation of ‘the road to hell is paved with good intentions.’

War on drugs, war on terror, war on war - human beings will always do screwed up things, but they have convinced us they can get rid of drugs, get rid of terror, get rid of war. Except they say - we have to control and regulate and strip search you to do it. That is the big lie. As long as there are people there will be alcoholics, drug addicts, terrorists and war. But how can you get elected by telling idiots the truth?

This money reporting isn’t going to stop anyone except normal people trying to live there own lives. Plus it makes so many things illegal it is easy to stifle free speech, for fear you might be targeted (remember Lois Lerner) and hit with hundreds of thousand of laws and then persecuted by a federal authority and destroyed.

The founders knew better, which is why they basically didn’t have a zillion laws. They left your life up to you, as long as you didn’t do anything exceptionally bad you were left alone.

This is why I am against any power to the government, no matter how many times they tell me it will make me safer.

It won’t make me safer, it will just make me a slave.

The FBI may have used structuring to nail him but they knew, since he was SOH under Bush, that he was compromised by Turkish intelligence and most likely by the MB by default.

Look up Sibel Edmonds the FBI translator who spoke out about it and was hit with a Gag order. She named several politicians along with Hastert. Most are out of office except for one female congresswoman from Connecticut.
