During a press conference on Monday, Gov. Nikki Haley will ask that the Confederate flag on the grounds of South Carolina's capitol be removed, according to the Post and Courier. The move from the popular governor (reelected last year by 15 points and with 79 percent approval last April) will almost certainly help encourage the state legislature to vote for removal. As it stands, the legislature needs a two-thirds vote to make that happen -- a high bar.

I weep for the South
Yeah listen to the WaPo Nikki. That’ll get you in your constituents good graces
Im from NY and respect that flag as the standard of a proud group of American warriors who fought the good fight for their homeland. It has nothing to do with hate. The haters are the ones who want it removed
As Rush is fond of saying: SYMBOLISM OVER SUBSTANCE - this does NOTHING to fix the problems, but goshdarnit, it sure does FEEEEEEEEL good, don’t it? Lol. Anyone advocating this ignorance is an idiot.
War of Northern agression continues...
Rush has a soundbite from someone that said the confederate flag was a flag of rebellion.
Well, “rebellion” is the realm of leftists based on their religion of Humanism, which is a rebellion to God and His “externally imposed” laws.
This guy roof is far more of a leftist than a “conservative”.
The idea that big business gets to dictate over state citizens is getting frightening. The idiot at Salesforce is yapping again over this. In Indiana, he had power with a major division located there. He needs to be shot down now. I for one, removed them from my list of choices for software on several fronts. I am no Fortune 500, but if enough people do it, he’ll either shut up or eventually get canned.
I put this in the same situation as the nativity where everyone complains one way or the other. I really wish that the neighbors next door to the flag would allow it on their property so that it puts an end to this but yet the flag is still there and nothing to do with government. I feel the same way about the nativity scene....ok so it is on taken off the court house grounds but if everyone Christian would put on in their yard at Christmas, that would make a great statement. What if every South Carolinian who cared about the Confederate Flag decided to put up the flag in their yard? Wouldn’t that be a great statement instead of one flag at the Government building which is really next door anyway.
I hope there are enough true children of the old South to stand up to these jackals.
Enough is enough!
I weep for the South
I am sure if will survive...they have after getting their butts handed to them. They will continue now.
We are one country, indivisible. We need ONE flag, not two or three as official flags. It is perfectly fine to hoist a confederate flag on private property. But only ONE flag, The Old Glory meaning stars and stripes for ever, should fly on government buildings.
Salesforce is a super power in the software industry and especially with any business that employs some sort of sales force.
They will continue to have massive sway.
Biz community wants flag down. SC has become hub for Boeing, BMW, tourism...
Sounds like some political extortion going on. Where’s Sharpton?
So, there should be no State Flags then?
She is not smart, just another reactionary politician like most in the once great USA. The flag issue is just low hanging fruit and the cowards jump when the puppet master plays the outrage, racism tune. SMH.
South Carolina became a hub for Boeing, BMW and tourism with the flag up. Leaving it up won't change that.
On state buildings only, not on Federal buildings.
WEEP FOR ALL OF AMERICA. This is a FIRST AMENDMENT CATASTROPHE!
Remember the old saying, “Save your Confederate money, Boys, THE SOUTH SHALL RISE AGAIN!”
