During a press conference on Monday, Gov. Nikki Haley will ask that the Confederate flag on the grounds of South Carolina's capitol be removed, according to the Post and Courier. The move from the popular governor (reelected last year by 15 points and with 79 percent approval last April) will almost certainly help encourage the state legislature to vote for removal. As it stands, the legislature needs a two-thirds vote to make that happen -- a high bar.

AGREED!
Add to that the RIGHT TO WORK that moved Boeing to S.C. Don’t see any flag controversy there! Purely a matter of big bucks saved.
Another “In Yo Face Whiteboy!” win for the America haters.
The “jackals” defeated the Old South handily. Look, conservatives who are not from the South are just baffled by the attachment to the Confederate flag. To me, it stands for slavery and secession. I disapprove of both.
the confederate battle flag is not flying at a federal building in S.C.
Craven twit. This one might get her some praise from the media and the elitists, so she’ll be happy.
and jim crow
FYI: The CS battle flag doesn't fly over ANY government building, state or otherwise, It flys over a memorial to fallen soldiers of the South.
This was agreed upon in the SC state legislature,a large Confederate flag used to fly over the Capitol dome, along with the American flag and the South Carolina flag, but was removed in 2000. However, a smaller version of the flag still flies on statehouse grounds, next to the Confederate Soldier's Monument.
Please before bloviating, get the facts straight
Naps, you’re so passive-aggressive, LOL. What a female comment.
Most of the Yankees who fought were not the jackals. Besides they did not do it so “handily” as you put it unless you consider that twice as many Yankees died during the war as Confederates.
You now do sound like a jackal or maybe jackass.
I have to disagree, Federal buildings that reside in States should also fly their State flag, although at a lower level.
We are The United States, the Fed exists at the approval of the States and with enumerated Constitutional powers....or so it is supposed to be anyway.
The goal of the haters is not to take down the Confederate flag. Their goal is to have it outlawed from public display. Then when that happens the next goal will have it made a hate crime to own one. Haley, Graham, and Tim Scott would not in office now if not for support from Confederate flag supporters. Hopefully come election time they will be sent packing. I despise sell-outs and traitors. And that’s exactly what they are.
Democrat Fritz Hollings of South Carolina brought back the confederate battle flag as a way of ‘giving the finger’ to Martin Luther King Jr.
He was a lifelong democrat and served in that capacity until 2005.
Suck-ups in the press like Philip Bump of the Washington Post never ‘outed’ Fritz Hollings anymore than they ‘outed’ Sen. Byrd (D) who was a member of the KKK.
Tactics used against blacks in the Jim Crow South are the same tactics democrats use against conservatives today.

approximately 365,000 federals died and 260,000 confederates, for an appoximately 1 1/2 to 1 ratio
Excellent post, Vaquero. I’m from NY, my family fought for the Union but I shake hands across the century with those brave men who fought for their own freedom.
Ask Haley to speak with Roy Barnes the POS gov who got rid of our flag in a midnight session. Barnes went bye bye next election.
